The new ordinance / law in the City of Tampa, primarily, requires the owners to get a special permit in order to have the showers. Additionally, they have to take certain classes for certification (I believe) and pay more $$ At least, that's my understanding. You can find it on line. In the end, they are all about the $$ Many have chosen to simply eliminate the showers. As much as I understand the Human Trafficking issue and agree with much of it, the steps that have been taken to stop it are really overboard. They have also screwed a lot of professional business who are on the up and up, as many consumers group all the massage establishments as the same. As do the police. Meanwhile, let's take a look at the REAL CRIMES going on in the city, that they CAN'T seem to solve.

New Bathhouse Regulation and Penalties.

The ordinance will make several changes to the old legislation, passed during the height of the AIDS epidemic in the 1980's. These changes range from more stringent permit requirements as well as a waiting period for said permit, to limits on the hours of operation for bathhouses and spas. These establishments will also have to keep daily logs of all clients and require all clients to enter through the front door. All bathhouses and spas must have a manager or operator in place to ensure the establishment is operating lawfully. These managers, as well as all employers, will be required to take a course in human trafficking. Establishments will also be regularly inspected to ensure compliance.

In order to apply for a bathhouse permit, one will have to provide a valid photo I'd and list any criminal history. The Tampa Police Department will conduct inspections of the establishments prior to issuing permits, working in conjunction with the Tampa Planning and Development Department. City Attorney Mike Schmid stated that the PDD will notify establishments about the ordinance, and they will have 30 days to comply with new regulations. If bathhouses fail to comply with these regulations, there are penalties in place. Failing to obtain a permit will incur a fine of up to $500 and could result in jail time.

Hillsborough County Commissioners have expressed their support of a similar countywide ordinance. They worry that the crackdown in Tampa will encourage illegal establishments to simply move outside of city limits and operate elsewhere in the county. According to the Polaris project, a nonprofit organization working to combat human trafficking, the city of Tampa has one of the highest numbers of illegal bathhouses and spas in the state. The same organization named Tampa as a hub for illegal activity and human trafficking. The Florida Dream Center, a nonprofit located in St. Petersburg aimed at aiding victims of human trafficking, has stated that the focus should be on those soliciting prostitution. The president of this organization has stated that this ordinance will cause establishments to relocate, rather than legally comply.

Earlier in 2017, two massage parlors located on Kennedy Blvd. In Tampa only a few minutes apart, closed suddenly. Both had been recently visited by law enforcement.

I've been watching this thread for a while, and I guess my brain took a very long vacation.

The idea of trying a massage with a happy ending seems like fun. However, I"m having a hard time following what some of you are saying.

Wanted a massage and stress relief.

Went to the good old standby. Was welcomed by a lady that seemed a bit younger than usual but much taller and bigger build than typical. Definitely well endowed on top. Pretty decent English. Says she has only been there a couple days.

Table shower table is gone and is now a men's shower self service room.

Quite a nice massage with walking.

Woke up not hungry any more and my toes curled.

Larger Asian but we'll proportioned pleasant visit.

Met a friend for dinner and we over heard this two talking about getting a massage at this place called Massage Star on waters. Dude was saying the massage was good and he got all worked up, but nothing happened. He thinks something may be available, but he wasn't sure if extras are available. So figured I would share, the guy said it was $.10 w/ tip for 90m

Stay safe.[/QUOTE]I've been going there for close to a year and there's not even a hint at anything. Massage is quite good actually. I'm a big guy and I really need the shiatsu style (aka walking on back) so I go there every 2 or 3 weeks.

There's only been two therapists there in that time so if anyone has gotten anything extra (a HJ would be about the most I could see happening) I'd be interested to know since It means I'd have to ask for the other therapist the next time.

Oh and they leave the door ajar when you flip over so perhaps that's a sign that there's nothing going on in the room.

(yes including the brief BBBJ rim window) Looks like the Kennedy environment has changed substantially, however. Recent trips to Dallas and Philly confirmed that they are one of the best, outside of GG / BO. Is St. Pete / Clearwater the better surefire option? I'm hearing good things about Palace. Any other options with younger, scantily clad providers? Best, Urb.
