In theory, if not in practice, there are limiting principles in place for the police. They can do X but not why. Criminals don't recognize limiting principles. That makes them more frightening.

I certainly do not need politicians or talking heads on cable news to influence me or my opinions. I mean I find the fact that Dr Seuss and now maybe Curious George are being "cancelled" as utterly ridiculous. The unchecked cancel culture truly has run amok.
