The internet and more millionaires changed the strip club scene.
I grew up in the late 70's and remember well the time frame I turned 18 and started visiting various strip clubs in town. When I had extra money, stopping at a club became routine. Remember too, back then, drunk driving (sadly) wasn't a big deal. I hare to admit it, but stopping at a SC and having a few beers was like "so what?" Navigating a safe trip home was a challenge back then at times. But we were young and stupid and horny, right?
But its a matter of perspective. Back then, it was not a big deal, all these SC's around town. There were plenty of SC's back then, all around Keeaumoku neighborhood. So in my memory, it didn't seem like a big deal, because they all had hot chicks, many local girls, even a few clubs that featured regularly white girls, and of course a few that featured mainland visiting dancers and yes, even porn stars. Back then, getting porn stars to show up at your club WAS a big deal. At most all the clubs, cash was flowing everywhere. I can only imagine the thousands of dollars that was floating around at any club, on every other payday. Also, don't forget, during the times when an aircraft carrier was in or any 'fleet' of ships, fuck that, stay home! The navy boys were flooding all the SC's in town and throwing all their cash on the stage, as drunk as they usually were. We all quickly learned, no waste time going out then.
Getting 'special extras' in the booths, private shows, and such, was a bit of a crap shoot. You had to be willing to spend money, explore, and know which clubs had the better "arrangement" for getting those kind of services without any hassles.

Finding strippers who were willing to do fully nude private shows wasn't that hard at all, you only had to figure out how much you wanted to spend. The next level was how 'hands on' was she? Was roaming allowed? Then of course was 'finger exploring' part of the price? Getting hand jobs was easy in a booths, at the right place with select girls, but you had to be persuasive. I actually never got full service from any strippers in any club ever.
Until near the end as the pressure came to bear on owners and clubs slowly, but surely started to disappear. Now the girls were competing against the internet porn wave. The few girls that remained active dancing and working Clubs, were definitely not the same caliber as years before. Maybe even a bit desperate. But as I cruised the few SC's left in town, I'd be more selective about who I'd spend money on and why.
There was one girl I would frequently see over the years (a regular waitress who NEVER stripped) at Centerfolds. Tall redhead, sexy as hell, never gave it up. Near the end as that club started to go down hill, she started dancing for the cash. So we started enjoying a few private shows regularly. I've got no time for that shit. Somewhere along the line, as SC's disappeared, AMP's became popular and I'm certain that contributed to the strip scene drying up. Why bother? This board and others like it, provide information where any guy can go find that "sure thing" he is looking for. Going to strip clubs today is largely a waste of cash.
