While I see where the article includes that the district attorney says he'll still pursue prosecutions for patronizing sex workers, promoting prostitution and sex trafficking, I can't help but think that, with dropping all cases against the prostitutes, they are that much less likely to pursue the mongers as well. And, of course, it's the trafficking cases that get everyone worked up, prosecutors too. I suspect we all agree that those trafficking in humans ought to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. While it's a generalization, hugely sting operations for mongers go hand-in-hand with sting operations for prostitutes, if you stop doing one, you're likely to stop doing the other. And, with sites such as this one, hopefully the mongers are educating themselves enough to avoid those stings anyway.

What I do know is that approx. 26 states have announced that they will stop the extra Federal payments. At least two, Maryland and Indiana have already been successfully sued to at least temporarily prevent them from stopping the payments. Indiana stopped the extra payments on June 19th but is now gearing up to restart the payments after losing 2 court challenges. The Indiana case is expected to go to the Indiana Supreme Court. Indiana is pretty conservative so if you can lose there you can lose in other states. There is also a case in Texas but I am not sure what its issues are or the current status. Opinion, other lawsuits are likely to follow if they haven't already. On the other hand, some states are offering bonuses to get your butt back to work. As far as States being laughed out of court, I am not aware of that list. But if they were laughed out of court wouldn't that mean they lost?
