Of the 114 arrested, 7 were related to human trafficking or abuse of minors.
107 (94%) of the arrests were just ordinary "lewdness," AKA people who weren't bothering anyone, and just wanted to get together peacefully, in private.
I have had this discussion too many times. It makes no sense that an act between two consenting adults only crosses the legal line when their is an exchange of money. Call it a short term marriage if you will. Most married men will probably agree that they are paying dearly for the women that lays next to them every night and that is complete legal.

Yeah, it sounds like the guy in the article was trying to perform a LE check and they tacked on some kind of assault charge on him. I have had multiple providers perform this check on me. I never initiate a LE check. After they grab my package, they usually have me grab their tits to verify I am good. I have not had to do this in a while because I see solid providers that have reviews and not random providers just passing through the area. Whenever I do see a provider for the first time, I never discuss payment. I bring it in an unmarked envelope and never hand it to them. I place it on a table, chair or cabinet. I do not discuss why I am there or any kind of acts. One provider told me that merely pulling condoms out of your pocket constitutes engaging in an illegal activity. I am not sure, but I guess LE could get you on anything if they really wanted to. A real, genuine provider will not talk about engaging in activities and will not push you into handing over money. My advice: I try to stay out of nasty hotel rooms where someone is lurking in the parking lot or in the bathroom and is just waiting to rob you. I stay away from 18-25 year old girls because of their lack of maturity and lack of professionalism. Every now and then, you run into a good one, but in my experience, providers in that age range are much more likely to bring drama to the table. This guy does not need drama. I prefer providers from 26 and up that have their own place or will come to you. I do my homework and only see providers who have a website, nice reviews and that are professional over the phone. I hate texting. I prefer providers that will speak to you on the phone. I get a great feeling when they ask for references or perhaps perform a light screening. I encourage folks to stay away from $40 deals. I do not travel at night, only during daytime hours. Even using these precautions, I could still be hassled by LE, mugged, or even assaulted by some pimp. However, I feel as though I reduce my chances greatly by following these guidelines and thinking with the big head, vice the little head. I must admit, sometimes I see those stacked 22 year olds and it is very hard to resist. In those difficult times I am extremely careful about what I say and my actions when I first walk in the door. I would love to hear some of the senior members' thoughts on this matter (I. E. , LE checks, personal safety, provider selection, etc.).
At MM757, I think you brought up a good point. The article makes it sound like he initiated the LE check. I can see some guy just grabbing a women's breast as battery. But if, like you suggest, she grabs your package and you reciprocate by grabbing her breast, don't see how that could be seen as an unwanted advance. Then again, I'm sure if you walk into a sting, they will charge you with something. Even if it never sticks, the embarrassment (family and friends seeing you in the paper) and fear factor can be quite painful.
And I agree with several comments below, it should just be legalized and be done with it.

5. You say avoid the under 25 set, stick with 26+, I'd move that up to 30+.
6. Never be the first to grab a body part, Have her touch you below the belt first.
7. Avoid Backpage and Craigslist, unless research with multiple good reviews for a period of time.
8. Avoid the after 5 pm engagements Late morning to mid afternoon.

I can't agree more with avoiding unreviewed posts, be it from BP, CL, SA, SB, etc. Credible reviews can be hard to find because some providers will have handlers make the review in an attempt to draw in business. Seek out SM advice in here, but only after you've done your own homework; such as number searches, social media searches, TinEye, etc. Keeping in mind at times you will need to TOFTT.
Some additional measures often used include: communicate on a burner phone or app, nothing that ties the communication to your name. Like providers, change your number periodically. Survey the incall location. Always arrive early and communicate as though you're enroute. Watch who comes and goes. Circle the location inconspicuously several times and identify suspicious vehicles. Take what you need, leave wallet / phone in car.

I haven't needed to use it, because I tend to stick to AMP's or monger in countries where it's legal, but I read once that the best way to avoid the sting is to arrive with a small camera. Explain to the lady (LEO) that you are interested in becoming a professional photographer and that you have had trouble finding anyone to take nude artsy photos, and of course she gets first review and will blur face if necessary. A lady cop will never strip down with her coworkers watching, and asking to take some pictures isn't illegal. As soon as the boobs are out, you can be sure she is legit, as most any working girl is going to be fine making some money for no real work. Having cash money on you to pay for modeling is completely reasonable, and of course you never leave home without a condom. It's just good policy.

I was reading the other day about England being close to passing a broad law that allows the government to go anywhere they want without any restrictions. Meaning if they want to see what's on your computer, just take it. No warrant and no Judges involved (They're just pussies that could not make it as lawyers for the most part). Government agency wants to tap your phone, go ahead. Checks and Balances just slow them down. Read your Email, etc. They even want Internet Providers to log and record your traffic for a least a year back. Available for review at anytime.
You might think that in America it's different. Ha Ha that's so cute. When Bush and Cheney did it with the Patriot Act it was so "1984". While you may be innocent in the extreme, Enough may be there to charge you with "crimes against the Morals of America" or some other broad charge to shake down players. Maybe no jailtime, just some hefty fines and legal fees. Because if one thing serves the interests of true justice in America it's a big fat fine.

Just as it has cracked the Hobbying world open like a piata it can comeback and bite us in the ass. I suggest a new thread devoted to these issues, not just burners and email but using technology to keep the anonymous- uh what's the word- anonymous. Teenagers do it all the time, encryption, bogus IP addresses, private servers, gps disabling and on and on. Truly tech savvy is where it's at unless you just retire right now. Tell me and other members what you think.
