Back in the day, artist often excluded a ladder among their studio equipment. I had a small studio, in a garage, where I took mostly portraitures. I guess I could have use a ladder for overhead shots, but changing the bed and furniture in the background would have been an added expense and difficult.

My camera could do it easily enough. My LCD viewfinder does contortions. I could easily hold the camera overhead and FLIP the LCD viewfinder to face me.

A chair would just make it easier. I can take a close up photo of my own face just by flipping the viewfinder.

Taking a photo of my back or shoulder myself is a problem. A photo of the rear shoulder isn't too hard. I haven't done my back, but I think I could. I have taken a close-up photos located slightly below the neck across my back. Hint: Use a hidden camera option and something else. Not even in the instructions.

Ordered a cheap ring light for macro work. Need a tripod. Have a conversion lens and two kinds of remote shutters. Wired and wireless.
