Staying safe on the West side
A friend of a friend just got busted for DUI in Waiau (between Aiea and Pearl City, on Kam Highway), so I am posting this for my fellow drinkers. Christine's in Waimalu is the safest location if you want to get hammered in the Aiea / PC area. Lots of escape routes that are unlikely to have DUI checkpoints. I would rate Pearl Kai as the 2nd best place for DUI avoidance. Join Us is number 3 because of the limited paths out and easy surveillance. Last place goes to the bars under the old Flamingo restaurant. Some of these bars take care of the PC cops for favors. As mentioned before, eat a spoon full of peanut butter before driving to mask your beer breath, make sure your headlights are on, and don't speed or run a red light. Know the back roads and avoid over passes (road block favorites). To my Kalihi brothers, watch out for LE on the East side of the canal. Better to take a side street and avoid Dillingham or King Streets.
I mostly want to unwind after work
Mamas needs to restrain their aggressive girls. Started at Join Us and the princess was in a money making mood so I cut short my stay to move to Pearl Kai. Same situation at Mama Mia with KBG wanting me to buy drinks for mama, which I did, then the bartender which I did not. I didn't even get my house pupus yet. They think by putting a couple drink markers in front of me, I should drop 40 bucks in gratuity shortly thereafter. Damn flies. The roaming cookie lady should sell fly swatters. She would make more money. Went to Starlite in Kalihi today. I got pupus and a shoulder massage before getting nudged for a drink. Mama Tammy might be teaching her girls about long term profitability.
