I have found at the $200 level but I stay away from the $300+. Even $250 these days is a bit pricey. It is a simple fact of economics. I am not trying to be cheap but right now my hobby funds are limited thanks to a job loss. I think these providers need to realize this. Even the major restaurant chains are coming up with deals. Mater fact I haven't seen much talent around Nashville that would warrant over $200 these days. Would love to know about your sub-$150 provider.

One provider had dropped her hourly rate a mere $25 to help out her clients. Customers loved it and I think it probably kept her business going. However, the other providers went nuts and made many comments about how they would not 'compromise' themselves just because of bad economic times. They felt their pussy was worth just as much then as always, and they felt giving discounts was something they shouldn't have to do. It was interesting.

I can see both sides of the coin, but IMHO tough economic times call for drastic measures sometimes. I know plenty of business owners and self-employed folks who have dropped their rates recently in order to survive. You would think it would be the same around here. But I guess maybe those providers are not feeling the crunch so why discount? I'd be interested to hear their side of things.

In the past, I've seen providers in the $30O-$40O range just because I didn't know any better, but I'll have to refrain from those providers from now on since with the cost of room and stuff, they end up being $50O+ before it's said and done, and that's just not an option for me anymore.

I've definitely become much more leery and suspicious of even the seasoned providers since I've become a member of this board too, and I've decided to only see the ones with proven track records with recent stamps of approval from the other members for safety's sake. This site is invaluable for fairly new hobbyist like myself, that's for sure.

If anyone checks this out please let the board know, that looks like fun!
