I wanted to post this transcript of part of a recent conversation I had on Seeking Arrangements. After only two weeks, I am pretty sure I have plucked all of the legitimate fruit that I consider do-able, and the example below is representative of every single damn conversation I have anymore. That's where I stopped. I found it interesting that she took a new approach this afternoon, out of the blue. Now, I'm not an attorney, but I watch a shit load of Netflix. Depending on how I feel, and how the initial conversation goes, sometimes I will suggest meeting over dinner and / or drinks.

I have had a variety of experiences with this (BTW, I NEVER pay an allowance for this first meeting), ranging from a brief conversation realizing that we aren't looking for the same thing, to a date that went about 6 hours, ended late at night back in her bed. Still nothing was paid for this. I met her one more time, we had some more fun -- and then I realized that I didn't want to continue with her (because quite frankly, she wasn't worth paying an allowance for, but we had some fun in the meantime).

I had another nice evening with someone, we had dinner and wine, and we ended up discussing an arrangement where I would give her an allowance every time we met. We both agreed that when we met next we were most definitely both interest in exploring more of each other.

Handle it like a date, not like a financial transaction, and you will have much better luck. Invest a little bit of time and effort, and you will be rewarded. You are totally correct! I always enjoy the "meet & greet" approach, and it demonstrates safety for BOTH parties. It also weeds out any association with law enforcement. Uncle LEO will not take the time to meet with a mongrel over coffee at Bob Evans, on a Saturday morning. In Uncle LEO's mind, it is a waste of time AND it's unglamorous for Uncle LEO.
