In comparison, is the service on par or better than more developed nations like Japan or Korea? I realize the price difference is large, but when I pay the extra $ I expect and receive insurance and state of mind knowing that I get what I want in a safe and clean environment.

The higher end girls I just bring them back to my hotel or have them come to my room, but definitely safe. Even the more ghetto places in Pattaya, there really isn't any sense of danger. I wouldn't mess with the $20 girls, personally, not because of fear of them robbing me, but more because they aren't my taste. I find Bangkok and Pattaya to be very safe places to be, even when stumbling around drunk. Manila and the rest of the Philippines can be really hit or miss, as far as safety goes. That's typically why I prefer going to Thailand. It's not the girls that will rob you, but crime is a lot more widespread in the PI from my experience.

The only confrontation you will ever get is if you get scammed into a ping pong show. There are places that won't scam you for that, but it's not really worth going to in the first place, even though people talk about it a lot.

Service for street walkers and bar girls just depends on the chemistry often. Any higher end escorts or soapies, it's pretty much PSE. The prices can get up to Japan / Korea prices, but I get really good service in the 80-120 range. Those girls are easily 8's and 9's in my book. That's pretty high end in Thailand. PI is slightly cheaper.

Philippines is nice since everyone pretty much speaks English also. Knowing some Tagalog goes a long way. Thailand, most of the working girls understand enough English, so that is a down side there. Either way, I found both Thailand an easier place to get around without speaking the language than Japan or Korea. I can understand Tagalog and speak enough, but never felt like I absolutely needed to speak Tagalog in the PI. That's in general, but hooking up with girls and picking up working girls is so much easier in Thailand and the PI without having that huge language barrier issue in place.
