Pear-shaped means the thighs AND hips exceed the width of the shoulders. I am not a very large guy either but Lili in Downtown walked on my back. Lili is a big asian woman at about 5'5" and 140-150lbs and it was no problem when she walked on my back. It scared me at first but when Lili did the walk, it was no where near my limit.
