Seems to be where all the cw work. Always wondered why I never saw any on harbor, now I know why. They were all pushed onto first. Will not be venturing out there much anymore.

Went lookin' for somethin' juicy, but the rain kept the SW's away. Grabbed a burritto from Alb's, then parked near Hazard for some observation. The strangest thing was occuring in the JIB parking lot. There were about 5 plain clothes officer (shields around necks) standing near the front door, and a few civilians that were talking with them. I saw one, middle aged latino guy sitting on the sidewalk with his hands zipped.

Since I had nowhere to go, I just discreetly viewed what was going on from my secure spot. Didn't look like a lot of organization, a few of the officers were pacing back-in-forth, while one guy was walking around with a clipboard and he appeared to be taking statements? I really dunno', as I'm not a cop.

Anyway, they were there for a solid 2 hours, until an unmarked Ford truck pulled in. The guy with the clipboard went over and chatted with whomever it was who arrived, then another guy cut the zip ties off the suspect. They set him up against the wall and the guy who arrived in the truck was doing all the talking. The suspect, at this point, was not shackled. They even gave him a smoke. The gentleman who arrived was heavier set, but I did not see a shield around his neck like the other officers. Also, the guy who cut the zip ties off did not look like LE - it was weird.

After about 20 minutes of talking, they had the suspect turn around and they put cuffs on him. Then, the guy with the clipboard cleared out the backseat of his unmarked Pontiac. Again, the LEO's were scattered and it didn't look like they were really being "procedural." They finally put the suspect in the back seat, and the Pontiac was followed out by a Chevy driven by a white LEO wearing a ballcap and suckin' on a big chaw. Was able to track 'em down as they rolled down 5th, and headed to the station downtown (presumably, as I veered off).

I was just curious what the hell had happened since there were no "marked" SAPD units on scene. Of course, I didn't get a close look at the shields, but I can only assume that they were SAPD VICE, but who knows, maybe they were bounty hunters, immigration, etc..? I have no clue.

If they were SAPD Vice, they were driving black and grey Pontiac G6's, and a New model Chevy Malibu (Silver). All had deep tinted windows. The truck that pulled in was a brand new two -tone black and silver Ford Explorer Sport Trac (crossover truck/suv). I saw one of the guys walk out to a black Dodge Charger, but I can't be sure he was LE. He retrieved some food from his car and was eating it near the suspect - again, weird. I also witnessed a silver Toyota Avalon and a Black Toyota Camry that were presumably some of their other cars, but can't be sure they were LE.

At any rate, sorry for the rant, but just wondered if anyone else saw this weird chain of events, and/or knows anything about the odd procedures I witnessed. Man, if those guys really were LE, you'd have no clue as some looked like gangbangers, and some had long hair, and well...

Really hard to tell what the cops were doing. Just remember that prostitution is only one of many crimes they arrest people for. Despite the LE, the cops have more important priorities.

Saw Emily on Tuesday at her room on the corner of Bristol and Segerstrom. Total damage was $60. She's pretty nice with no drama.

Only visible were their shields on their gun belts and 3 of them had the green and yellow Sheriff insignia on their chests.

If not for the shields, and the Sheriff patches on some of their chests, I would have lit up the number 2 & number 3 Detectives as they were clearly visible in my line of sight.

Honestly, we were no more than 15teen feet apart when we encountered each other in the hallway of my castle.

Anyways, the only one that looked like a cop was the lead Detective who did eventually arrest me.

All of the other LE were young, CA looking surfer types...

Actually, some of my associates thought that I had gotten jacked by a robbing crew after I told them about what went down.

I often watch the Sheriff substation parking lot on Topanga & Lassen, when I am slowed down by traffic, just to observe the different vehicles that active duty LE drive, during their off hours, when they are in regular civilian mode.

It is revealing.

They drive old and new trucks, family style minivans, sports cars (Ford Mustangs seem to be real popular), and some very ordinary yet beat up new & used vehicles.

My point is that sometimes, not every time, it is virtually impossible to ascertain whether or not an individual is or is not an active duty LEO while they are driving.

Unless, they are driving an obvious Crown Victoria Police Intercepter model w/marked CA Exempt plates be careful and wary of any strangers on the road.

A few years ago I use to play poker with a guy that lived down First street on harbor in an inlet. We use to set up a table outside and would watch all the SW's walk by. The really hot ones were UC definitly but if you could get them in a car you'd be lost safer especially if you don't make it too obvious. If there's a line of cars best to avoid as neighbors will call the cops.

What some of these units do is as follows: A tip comes in about a individual or group that is commiting violent or potentially violent crimes. The special unit will conduct survelliance on the criminal(s) and wait until they commit a crime that is very serious, and then make the arrest. This way the very violent person(s) are going to serve a very long time in prison.

Another possibility is ICE. Or a Federal drug bust. Or even something as simple as a warrant sweep.

Well, it's a mystery no doubt - just still thought it was weird how it took sooo long to put the guy in custody. Oh well, guess we'll never know. The main intel I wanted to provide was that of the UC vehicles. Of course, I'm sure they change all the time anyway. I think it was Walter in the LA threads that mentioned that most UC vehicles are rentals.

Don't know about any stings on Wednesday night, but I did see an undercover cop driving a brown Ridgeline who stopped two BSWs at the CA Girls around 9:30 Wed. night.
