It is awkward as all hell but it gives so much more information about both people that the rest of the experience can proceed in a little bit more of a relaxed fashion. And P is right, those who speak over the phone are generally going to be the better providers. Last thing, in my experience, asking for specific services over the phone or text can be a deal killer (for her fear that she's got the police texting her or recording the conversation).
