Woman think more of women who get a free meal and drinks from it because those activities are a part of the courtship ritual. We may have evolved intelligently but emotionally we are still overcoming 10's of 1000's of years of conditioning, dating, courting, are part of the process that leads to marriage which leads to security for women by attracting a strong mate. So prostitutes are seen as accepting value early while sacrificing their youth and beauty on transitory relationships that don't result in security for them nor their offspring.

I believe freakonomics has a few points that explain why rates are so expensive in the US. We are seen are unmarriageable so we make up for that value that would otherwise be found in a marriage by charging more (at least that's the theory). This was kind of my point. To drive rates down it not only had to be legal but the attitudes surrounding it need to change. Otherwise it can be perfectly legal but women won't want to do it because it lowers their value in the marriage market and there isn't an economical justification to choose this over any other job here in the US.

I know that lowering my rates would force me to up my volume which would in turn lower the quality of my service. When you pay for advertising, hotels, transportation, website costs and subscriptions, lingerie and other clothing, makeup, and toys and supplies your money starts to whittle down quick.
