Went to see'est La Vie a few times back in the 90's when I was younger as well. I think this is a bad idea. So it's $105 and that doesn't include the tip. With tip what's that another $25-35 more. So now you're looking at $130 -140 minimum. Plus for a lot of us coming from Chicago there are tolls so add on another few bucks plus gas and the pain just to drive out there- 45 min to over an hour. The things it had going before was the value and the fun of picking out of a lineup. Are all of the gals 10's? Some are cute but no. And the massage is more of a backrub- it's not therapeutic- it matters to me since I'm older now. I think they're pricing themselves out of the market just like when Rockford's strip clubs raised the lap dance prices in the 90's. Business went way downhill and never seemed to recover.

Even with lower gas prices- people still have really high health care costs, food, college, a lot of things have skyrocketed except for incomes. They'll still get business but less of it- at least from the Chicago area. If you live closer I could understand but why drive out there when you can get similar service or even better therapeutic massages closer to home for like $10 or $20 more. The psychological effect on going from 95 to 105 is not smart either. Most prices in the stores intentionally price their products at 99 instead of 100.

Just my opinion- I'm sure others will disagree. I'm curious to hear what happens.

The owner won't likely see any negative response, at least at first. Let's face it the vast majority of the people who visit ERS don't frequent this or any other site where reviews and prices are discussed. So the majority of regulars, and most of the first timers won't know the price until they arrive. They will most likely pay and, being unprepared for the increase take it out of the tip the girls get. If this is the case and the entire increase goes to management the ladies will see a net decrease in tips and the pressure will come from them in terms of their complaints and some of the ladies seeking other opportunities. If the increase is split, or goes to the girls then there will be little change in the overall money being made by the ladies.

My thinking is that if the increase is given to the girls as a way of paying them more it might be in response to the fact that many mongers don't tip. I have had more then one lady tell me that the average monger doesn't tip, and the average tip is lowered to about 10/ session because of this. Average tip seems to be 20-30 with one lady telling me she had a regular who tipped 50.

I am one who feels compelled to tip for good service, so a price increase to 105 is going to put me up into the 130-140 range as well. This makes it a tough sell for me. In Tampa one can get full service for 140-150 from an establishment like this only no jacuzzi.

When gas / fuel went up the cost of living went up. It cost more to transport food, clothing, etc. Businesses charged more and I get that.

But now gas / fuel prices are going down and I expect the rest will follow.

Thus I will not be paying more at ERS.

Even though the drive is a solid hour away it was worth it. The women were all models and lap dances were reasonably priced. It was like paradise. Not too mention Rainbow Spa was a nice place to visit as well. After the clubs raised the prices I just stopped going. I'm sure others did the same. Eventually the dancers got uglier as well since there were less customers coming in and things rolled downhill.

I read a similar thing of less business is happening at some of the brothels in Nevada. A big reason for that is the internet. There's no need to drive an hour away from Vegas when you can pick up a casino girl or look one up on the internet much closer to where you're staying for a lower or similar price. Once customers get used to not going somewhere it also becomes a habit. There is only so much discretionary money mongers have for strippers, massages, escorts, etc. I read in another forum some Asian massage places are asking more for extras- some a lot more. They're probably thinking, "hey we can make more because these guys will give in". Unfortunately they'll lose a lot of repeat business & loyal customers because we won't go back. Where as if they did the opposite and lowered the price- they'd get a lot more repeat business and probably end up making more money in the long run.

So I'm guessing by now it is confirmed that the price will increase in a week or so. I was told this will have little effect on business, since regulars will come as Xxofe said they don't care about an extra $10. Now the issue is where will that extra $10 go to the ladies or manmanagement? My regular told me that the overall avg. Tip has decreased, she said that she had customers taking $5 which they use to get from $100-$95. So in some cases she won't even see $5 which is very sad. Now on the other hand I have heard people leaving $100 as tip from other forums. At the end of the day it depends on the girl and the session but let's be this cheap.

Question: will I be going to ERS as frequently as I use to? Maybe not, will I stop going? Probably not.

But I strongly agree that they should bring back the punch card!

They had that show called "Cat House" about the Moon Light Bunny Ranch. In that Denis had the girls quoting prices like $500-800 for a BJ, and 1-2 K for FS. A disclaimer at the end of the show says that not the prices quoted are not those actually paid by guests there. Denis in an interview said he wanted to show the "higher end" of the business, but I think, instead of raising the average rate it had a depressing effect on business. I think a lot of guys dropped any idea of going to this place when they realized they could get lots and lots of other ladies for that same amount of money. And the girls on that show were more like the 150-250 types IMHO.

I have been going to the spas in Belvidere on and off for 18 years and do not recall how much the door fee was when I started. What I do know is we have a hidden gem. We are able to walk into a comfortable building, pick from a variety of young, medium aged and sometimes older women and enjoy their company for an hour or so. I have rarely left without having enjoyed the session. Consistency at a known price means great value and enjoyment in my book. It is safe, convenient, and enjoyable. Management runs a good business.

As you travel the country, many medium sized cities (larger than the Rockford / Belvidere area) do not have what ERS and CLV offer. (I have visited ERS far more often, though found CLV enjoyable as well) There are jack shacks galore and "massage parlors", which while they may offer great massages, are made to look like something else is available when it is not leading to a disappointing experience. And then there is the whole escort mess.

$10 extra bucks? I don't like paying more for anything, though this price increase is not a big deal.

I travel the country for work but live somewhat locally. I can attest that there is no other place like this in the country where you get such attention to the end result where you know the limits of what will happen. The original price, or at least the original for me, of $75 a few years was ridiculously cheap. I still gave a solid tip of $50 because these girls really try at what they do. In older posts years ago I heard the girls get half plus tip. So now they make 52.50 plus tip instead of 47.50. If guys really tip $5 or $10 to these lovely ladies, then shame on you. I love this place and will hit it up as long as I can. It really is rare to find such a gem where people can be open about what happens and everyone accepts it. There is a price for this, and $105 is fine by me.

Hard to believe there are some really cheap people out there who don't tip. Normally, they are the first to complain about the raise yet, they are the ones who forced it. Hey mongers-the girls have to make a living also!

I tip well and the girls know it. Yes, I have a good time.

When management raised the price from 85-95 the ladies started receiving less then half the money for all their hard work. When it comes to the service industry where a single hard working person is providing a service for a single client I think it is fundamentally unfair for a third party to take that much. Even half is unfair IMHO.

It was wise to point out that there are few places like this in this country, and like someone else said, I will still go there, just a little less often. The reality is just one visit less a year for me will more than make up for the added cost. Heck, with the gas prices down so much from what they have been it might still be a net gain, so I will have to look at the overall economics.

2 to report for this week. Been awhile since I have been to Belvidere. Went out on New Year's Eve to CLV, which was closed. No sign or anything to explain this. So I went to ERS thinking I might get lucky and catch Laura. No such luck. So I went with Jasmine, who was behind the desk. Young, probably early 20's, long curly black hair, tall, great rack. Massage was OK, technique was OK, she was a little into it. Not very conversational, but a fantastic body. I would repeat.

Since I was denied my visit to CLV on New Year's Eve, I went back today and saw my all-time favorite Sophia. The woman is simply gorgeous and has not aged one bit over the years. I'm not sure how old she is. Late 40's?. But her body is so incredible. She gives a great massage, very friendly, and her teasing technique puts her over the top for me. Every visit with her is great. She even washed the lotion off my back when we were done. Sweet, sexy lady!
