When asked about 1099's he said the girls issue themselves their own 1099's. Gee I didn't know you could issue yourself a 1099. There sure were a lot of tax issues brought up.

I think halfway through he thought he was actually walking out of there with a license. They seemed to be leading him on and then they just dropped the hammer on him the second half of the hearing.

I especially liked how he tried to see if he could remain open until 2 AM. When reminded that the new law requires closing at 10 pm he said "but I have many customers that come in later". I'm sure they could sense the arrogance with that request. Within the vast legion of Rumpswabs one of you must be a lawyer to volunteer some pro bono work on Larry's behalf. I get the feeling that Larry doesn't want to shell out $ for a lawyer.

And we find out the girls are paid $10 out of each house fee but apparently Larry takes that right back for food. You really think these girls are eating $50 worth of rice each day? Not the 85 lb spinner I saw there the last time I went. And the little woman Mrs. Ho said the girls actually eat more food than that. Sure sounds like they're being a couple of real cheapskates.


I wonder how the next hearing is going to go? Larry set the litmus test for the rest of the spas. He certainly took a pounding but at least he had the balls to give it a go in front of those sanctimonious do gooders. One of the women on the board didn't seem to know anything about Flushing. If his efforts fail he can always go back to being MikeWilliams the monger.

I wonder if at the next meeting their will be representation from the RI dept of Revenue and the IRS. If I was Larry and his wife I would be making sure my passport was current and looking for a country with no US extradition treaty, I bet he owes millions to the feds and state in back taxes.

I guess no one told Larry that EACH GIRL had to also have an individual license and complete background check, and as they rotate, ALL THE NEW girls had to be licensed and have a complete background check. In other words, they are making it impossible to have a business and even if you jump through all the hoops, all the fees got to be huge and never ending. Larry's ONLY HOPE is a civil rights action by the ACLU. You cannot make it impossible for any class of business to exist and operate, in the end, even Larry has rights.

It just sounded to me like Larry doesn't have a clue what he was up against here and thought he was going to bluff his way through. Seems incredible to me that most of us here seem to know the new ordinance better than Larry who's livelihood is hanging in the balance and who has operated his spa in this town for over 15 years.

I happened to catch part of a nationally syndicated radio talk show this morning where Larry and NMS were discussed for about 5 minutes. That is not good exposure for one of the most intelligent men in the Providence Spa scene.

Larry certainly sounded like he is in way over his head intellectually if you read the entire hearing transcript. Where's the esteemed NMS Rumpswab and noted Larry Sycophant Rei Haragoma with his PHD to assist Larry? If Larry actually requests another hearing he might be opening up a Pandora's box with all those side issues. Is Mika next to take the stand? Now that would be worth the price of admission.

I have a big appetite, and I don't spend that much. Now if Larry said that included living expenses too, that would be more reasonable, but he said he doesn't charge them for the room.

Were they having Federal Hill Italian delivered every night? That's over $1500 per month for each girl for some basic Kimchi Korean staple food. Sounds like a big fat gouge to me.

All spas charge the girls food money, I was talking to one of the girls and she paid $ 600 a week in Manhattan. All the jack shacks kick back a portion of house $$$ they actually advertise how much they kick back. The girls make big money! The owners make real money. Hope this helps.

As far as spa closures we are talking apples and oranges. Yes, LE has closed some spa's in Mass but the situation in Prov is different since it involves an ordinance invoked by the city that closed the spa's not LE.
