Amusement Machines
What blows me away is that these get situated right out front. Sometimes near the front door. Can only guess that they are trying to make a case against the people who own these things instead of the bar owners who are just hosting them.
Probable Cause. Possession of the machines is not illegal; it's the cash payment. LC and LE probably gathering evidence (or not) depending on "circumstances", as you suggest; $2500 in player losses per busy machine per day is not uncommon.
I think total machine count exceeding five (or four?) in any one enclosed area is considered a gambling establishment under current law. As always, do the research, know the circumstances
and consequences.

Phone card
How some bars are getting busted for those machines is beyond me. They are even claiming they are phone cards now to get around things. I wouldn't expect to see these machines dissappear though as the poker lawa is about to get passed. That will all just be the start for legalizing gambling.
Someone actually did try the phone card and it did work?
I think the machines involved are not those old phone card boxes. I don't see those around much anymore. What's popular now are these machines that are flat-out slot machine and keno games. No way to pretend those aren't gambling machines.
What blows me away is that these get situated right out front. Sometimes near the front door. Can only guess that they are trying to make a case against the people who own these things instead of the bar owners who are just hosting them.
Really I thought I just seen those phone card machines. I even see them in some liquor stores. Haven't seen any other machines in the bars. You talking about like that tic tac toe machine thats all over video arcades now? Those are purely slots but they get around by claiming it takes skill to make tic tac toe.

Meandering and Clueless
Well Sundays don't seem to be a good day to travel the circuit.
Started out in Kalihi. 1st to You&I. Dead. Onto Chocolate that had a total of 3 "girls" too include the MS and bartender. On to Butterfly. Dead. Twilight for a final nightcap. Had the 2 tall bartenders and the MS that's it. I know Sundays are typically slow, but, these bars were REAL slow. Rain, economy, day all added up to a real dead night.
Now on to clueless: I don't get it. What is the agenda for this anti gambling machine push, the anti alleged corrupt cop push, and any other alleged technically illegal activity. Seems to me that pointing out these activities only baits the LE. Plus, if an LE works 7days a week and all holidays for 25 years or whatever, well whose fault is that? Not his and while he's been busting his butt doing the work, who am I to begrudge his pension that was created, not by him, but by some agreement between SHOPO and the publicly elected officials (read if you don't vote. No grumble).
Ok to my understanding it is technically illegal for a girl to ask for and receive a drink from a customer. Additionally she cannot touch any of your privates. Now since its illegal, are the same folks who are against the machines and the alleged corrupt cops going to whine about these activities as well? Why? I'm clueless as to your agenda. Is it to stop all "crime" or just some "crime" based upon some personal criteria? Personally, I have never been forced into a KB, VB, of AMP. I have never been forced to play any machine. Therefore, I'm pretty much on the live and let live side of things as long as I'm not forced to do something I don't want to do. (ss crawls back to his cave)
When I would go to Evergreen awhile back she would always be in the room with this kind of tall lanky guy with glasses and she would stay in the room for a long time without getting more drinks. Then all of a sudden I don't see at Evergreen for the longest time and then she's back again.
Maybe it was him that made her happy.
In a way, sitting with her was good because she had allocating skills.
Everytime I go into Damour I see the same girls playing the machines by the mauka door. I haven't heard of anyone winning money but there are some girls that play every night and loose a lot of money. I guess if no one complains about these machines HPD doesn't do anything about it.
I also heard that someone tried to scam Butterfly by trying to redeem a fake ticket.
Those machines by the back door are just video game machines. Those machines are old, they have similar machines in evergreen, splash, secret and other bars in kalihi. They are just for fun, you won't win any money from those machines. They aren't illegal. The machine others are talking about are the "vending" type machines that you see in the bars.

Honolulu Weekly Bullcrap
Did you read the main article in last week's Honolulu Weekly? I basically tries to imply that Hawaii is a hub of sex crimes. That girls are bought and sold and delivered to hostess bars, mp's and strip clubs. The article says that it isn't sensationalism. What a boatload of crap. The article says that an attorney represented a k girl that was caught in a hostess bar. The article said that the girl wasn't even working, she was just in the bar when the sting went off. The girl said that she came here through Mexico on a raft through the Rio Grande.
I googled Clare Hanusz, the lawyer for the k girl. I couldn't find any news article that substantiated her claim. You figure the hawaii newspapers and the national newspapers would have caught that kind of thing. All I found are references to the trafficking that occured in that Aloun farm incident last year.
Seems more like the Honolulu Weekly just trying to sensationalize the trafficking issue by using false claims of sex trafficking in the bars, strip clubs and AMPs. I'm not sure about the girls in AMPs but I can't see how they can say that there is a sex trafficking problem in kb's and sc's. I do speak with some of the new girls when they start work in the kb's, most say that they answered ads in the korean newspapers that the mama's post. I also read in some mainland rags that some of the girls claim to be sex trafficked just to get asylum and citizenship in the US and that they came here on their own free will.
The legislators killed any sex trafficking bills this year, probably because it hasn't been proved that sex trafficking to kb's and sc's are a problem in hawaii and hasn't been pushed by the prosecuting attorney. The Honolulu Weekly is just another no talent rag, if they want to be credible they really need to post facts and not make up stories. Yes there was a problem with the Aloun farm incident but the Weekly shouldn't falsely try to associate the kb and sc scene with human trafficking.
What do you guys think?

I even saw a woman on the bus opening some up. To Gargoyles69, yeah, I know a guy who tried it out. You have to go through so many hoops that if it gave you like five minutes, you spent four just getting to where you could make your actual call. Scam-a-rama.
I don't go into video arcades, so I don't know what they have, but the machines I'm thinking of have about four games on them. One is a slot machine thing, another is video keno and the others I don't recall. At any rate, these things are a small gold mine for the bars from what I can tell. There are some guys who sink a benjamin per night into these things like five nights a week. (I'm not there every night, just friends with some bartenders who give me the straight scoop.)
Thanks for the report. That's not the Sasha of former S lounge was it? And which one is Jessie at Damour? Anyone else notice lately that there's been alot of fights among bgirls lately? BTW, hope your 'punchable' body was spared this week, LOL.
I believe Jessie is about 5-2 to 5-3, little chubby. Speaks english fluently. Lived and I believe graduated from college on the mainland, maybe calif. Heard she is the daughter of Lucy, daytime bartendress. Jessie and lucy used to work together as daytime bartendress.

Chatted with the other girl that Jessi had a scuffle with the night after, she didn't give any details (not that it was any of my business) but she came across as cool person. I just wanted to see some clothes ripped off.
Also there is a new girl at damour, her name is ivy. Pretty cute, accents kinda bad. Nice melons.

Monday afternoon
Felt like a beer yesterday afternonwhile in kalihi and stoped at the shopping ctr with the 5 bars and as expected all super slow so moved on to sheraton st since got parking daytime at moonflower / camelot. Only 1 retiree at camelot and walked in moonflower and surprisingly had customers, but was koreans getting the usual treatment all bars had only old ladys so went home early but daytime sometimes good to chill from the daily grind knowing you won't get hussled or spend alot. I have noticed tho that even the older retiree guys not as common now at bars and I wonder how these are able to remain in business.

She speaks fluent English as she did grow up in Cali and is also fluent in Korean. She has not been in Hawaii too long but already sounds ghetto and "moked" out as I think that is the crowd she runs with. Plus her boyfriend is a young punk-thug looking guy who tries too hard to look like a gangster.
Oldee it is funny that you mention fights and Jessie in the same posting because she got into it with another KBG Saturday night. Not really sure what it was about but her and Annie were going at it about something and one of the male workers was holding Jessie back.

What do you guys think?
I actually have a friend who is working as an attorney and is assigned to a case that deal with sex trafficking here in Honolulu. There are LOTS of talk that a majority of the girls in KBs and AMPs are sent here to Honolulu through illegal sex trafficking. I don't really get into it with my friend since I don't want her to know that I'm participating in such services but it seems that they're out to 'clean up' Hawaii from such illegal acts. Her firm is actually taking actions on pushing this through the system and thus shutting down the KB / AMP scene. They're getting reports and testimonials from some of these girls who are claiming that they're forced here and have to work out their debt to the mafia by selling themselves.
Again, its crazy how the law is interpreting this. Are there girls who could possibly be forced into this? Yea, maybe. Have I ever seen one? No way. All I've seen is kgirls driving around in BMWs and Mercedes to 'work. ' I think we all know enough to not trust girls who want drinky drinky with excuses like this.
