Also, to the extent you do find a local girl who speaks English AND will do P4P, its often the case they picked it up from foreign visitors like us and so have also learned how to get more $ out of us (ie are not the cheapest bargains). That's not to say they won't still be much cheaper than the ridiculous rates ones here are demanding.
But, here's the 2nd and much bigger catch. The price you pay is not really just the price you pay for the girl. You always need to figure in the "overhead". In the case of the local market, that's what we each pay for things like cover charges, tips, girl drinks, VIP room, etc and not just on all the ones we take back but also the ones we try out and decide not to pursue. Take all that add the amounts we actually pay the girls themselves and divide by the number of times we get laid and you get what I like to call a CPF (cost per fuck). Now do the same thing for a foreign trip but add in airfare, hotels, local transport and maybe even the cost of restaurant meals you wouldn't otherwise go for and you'll get your foreign CPF. Here's an example: say your airfare is $400 r/t, ground costs including hotels and meals $100/day and you get laid twice a day for $20 each time. Your true CPF for 1 week would be more like $100 per fuck, which is still much cheaper than the absurd rates you guys are paying locally but not quite the incredible bargain these other guys are making it out to be.
Which brings me to the 3rd catch: there are always also qualitative differences that can't so easily be factored into the equation. Some are obvious, such as are we really talking about the same quality of girl and service. But some are much less so and unique to the circumstances of what you're undertaking. I'm betting most if not all of us would like to get laid AT LEAST once or twice a week, but would we normally really need or want to pay for sex 3-4 times per day if we weren't on an expensive foreign trip wanting to get our CPF down (e.g. if we were willing to settle for just once per day in my example above, the CPF rises quickly to nearly $180). Also, how often could you even afford to take a $1500/wk trip like that? Once every 3 months or so? Then what? You binge while you're there, way more so than you ever would at home, come home and then what? Start saving for your next trip or still wind up overpaying these local GPS girls for sex every week or so or more?
Of course, this all way oversimplifies things. When I travel, I always pick places that have much more appeal to me than just the mongering opportunities it has for me (whether its hiking, adventure sports, local cuisine, etc.), so it'd be unfair for me to include the entire cost of my trip into my CPF. But I know PLENTY of guys whose primary if not ENTIRE focus is on getting laid from the moment their plane touches down.
One final point: my 3rd "catch", the one about having to binge whenever you do a short but expensive trip goes completely away IF you're in a fortunate enough position to be able to radically extend your trip or even become an expat and actually move there. Many of these countries now have "digital nomad" visas which allow you to stay well beyond the limits of the usual tourist visas (of course, there are also places which allow "perpetual" tourists as long as you leave the country for a few days when your tourist visa expires). Went to PP Tampa at an awkward time between the day and night shift. It's a small Smokey place. Seems all workers and patrons were of Hispanic descent so would probably have better time there if you know some Spanish. Girls that were there were hot at least.
