The only place for a decent 'real" massage is treat your body on wisconsin.
Here is my standard MO.
Walk into the MP and whoever comes to greet me, I size them up. How are they dressed? Are they reasonably attractive? (I. E. Will I be able to get it up? Are they polite and friendly? Do they look rushed or busy? Are they currently in the middle of a massage? If enough of those answers are positive and depending on my level of "need" I will proceed with the transaction and onto the next step. Is the answers are negative and its not happening, I will ask "how much for the hour?" and regardless of what they say I simply state that I need to go get more cash and walk out.
Assuming the former, she will lead me to the room, I will pay the agreed to house rate (typically 60 or 70/ hr here in the valley) and she will scurry off to do lord knows what while I disrobe. I typically get fully naked, lay face down on the table, spread my legs some and put any cover towel on a chair or the side table. I will always lay out what my desired tip will be on the table and put my keys or sunglasses on top of it. I never enter the establishment with anything on my person that I am not willing to lose. Sometimes I will hold some reserve tip but even that is rare.
Next, she comes in and we chit chat a little depending on her engrish level. What is your name, how long have you been here, are you up from Chicago? Etc. The "up from chicago" question has signaled my desired intentions more often than not. She will then ask "hard, med, or soft" I always pick hard and have only once been sorry. Typically these smaller asian ladies are just not strong enough to go too hard on the massage. I'm a fairly average build guy and typically their "hard" is enough that I can feel them working but not soo much that its hurting. On one rare occasion I said "hard" and she took that as a personal challenge to test my limits. Had to dial her back a couple of times. I though she was trying to put her elbow all they way through my back! This does not count the other modalities such as walking on the back or when they climb up on the table with you. Had heels, knees, elbows, etc used as the primary means of massage and usually even those are pretty good.
Anyway, typically the rest is pretty standard. 80-90% of the massage concentrated on my back, 10-20% on my legs and arms. 80% of the time spent before the flip, 20% after. I am partial to the tease and really like that. There have been a few that were really good at it. The place that used to be on 47 just south of 441, forgot the name but its closed now that they remodeled the strip mall. Anyway, her tease was magnificent. I went there mostly for that.
Finally, we each finish our assignments in the final part of this dance and we clean up with hot towels. The really good ones will finish out the rest of the time with a face or scalp massage.
Probably way more info than you were looking for, but I like to write long posts from time to time.

I'm assuming it wouldn't be much of a massage. I've requested hard a few times and it usually results in all forearms and elbows, which I don't like.

Golden was much more GFE and MT was a little bit better looking but then I just payed the $200 tip with no quibbling.

Tulip was self serve with offered back door play and QQ was just a normal legit run of the mill massage. At QQ they had to call in another MT as the only one working that night was already busy.
