The technology is there, they do it on phones all the time. They don't want to do that because the cost of bandwidth is negligible to the cost of infrastructure. If they start charging for bandwidth they know they will open the door for competition. Who wouldn't go with unlimited bandwidth over throttled bandwidth? What they want to do, and it would kill the free market, is choose which packets get priority. Imagine if you were trying to make a phone call and couldn't because you hadn't paid the higher rate for telephone service, or because you can't compete with Walmart you only get electricity 6 hours a day.
I'm all about free market capitalism, but that's not what the big three are doing. What they are doing is trying to restrict the free flow of info on the internet. If that shit passes, the internet will turn into traditional cable and sites like this will be gone because they will take for fucking ever to load. We can't afford to pay premium access fees.

The reason why the US sucks so much ballsack is because companies are trying to increase pricing on things that really should be available to everyone for an affordable price.
In the UK, they've got internet pricing down to something like $25 a month for 30 mbps down / up WITH phone and cable and pricing is getting cheaper. Korea is home to the fastest internet in the world. You can stream blu-ray quality stuff for ridiculously cheap (compared to us) Why is our shit more expensive?

OK. Even the way the cops went after it is a comparison in going for big targets versus low hanging fruit. And I have no love for either group. The two guys in Baltimore are skirge of the earth, for sure, as are the 22 morons coming to the hotel thinking they are going to bop a 14 year old girl if they just bring some Chicken McNuggets. Franky, I think these guys qualify for the Darwin Award for believing that was even a possibility and should not be allowed to walk among us. But the operation in Baltimore seems to be in cooperation with the hotel, meaning, the Swat team was not involved and the target was guys pimping out under age girls. Switch to the 20 city task force that netted 43 arrests, of which 22 were for being a stupid degenerate, 19 for being horny and doing something about it and two for having kiddie porn on their computers and being stupid. I sense a theme, here. I can only imagine the cost of involving 20 agencies and netting just over two arrests per agency. Can you say "Low return on investment" anyone?

You are probably right. And I bet if the cops knew the cameras were recording they would have rolled out the SWAT team and even the riot tank. The most dangerous place you can find yourself is between a police chief and a camera.

I saw on my phone the local news today 4/2/2015 (6, 9 or 2) that Orlando is trying to make the penalties harder on the johns. As they say no demand no supplies.

They post pictures on billboards and run full pages in the Tampa Tribune newspaper showing the Johns pics and info. Now it's automatic suspension of your drivers license. A few of the more seasoned mongers started being more careful or cutting back a little but the stings prey on the newbies and the ignorant.
