I could have done 60 days work release and I probably should have gone back to the judge and asked to do the time just to get it over with. Either way; the State literally owns the convicted person's ass. The list of rules is the same for misdemeanor and felony convictions. The Probation Officers can search one's home or body at any time. One needs their permission to drive a car, no alcohol in the residence, etc. Etc. Mandatory meetings during work hours as often as they want. And, yes, the system seems designed to keep grinding a person up. That was a LONG year!
