Dude, all I can tell you is I don't recommend you monger on foot in pedestrian unfriendly Miami. This is even more true especially at night and especially in the area you're thinking about. If a car won't do rent yourself a motorcycle or even a bike, but on foot you will be exposed to all that bad shit that city has to offer in abundance.
