A couple of trips to Scarlett's Ybor Strip
I had spent some time researching clubs for my recent trip. Initially, I was sort of disappointed about what I was reading about this place. Recent reviews pined for the "good old days" when much fun could be had but present reports suggested that things were not as consistent as they once were. I figured it's always YMMV, regardless of the place and so I temporized my expectations and decided to visit.
This report is a combination of two visits. A Wednesday evening and also a Friday evening both about the 8:00 pm to midnight frame. The cover on Weds was $10 and the cover on Friday was $15. Both had 1 drink minimums (all non alcoholic) and I think water was $6.
Physically, it is a large club. The middle of the front large room is a large stage with a couple of poles. The bar in in the back. There are 3 different regular lap dance rooms in which upholstered cubicles are oriented in such a way that attempts to provide some privacy despite no doors on the individual cubicles. There are three communal lap dance pod rooms; two on the right and one on the left as you are facing the bar. The ones on the right have darker lighting —there is a heavy velvet curtain separating these pod rooms from the main room. If these rooms had multiple dances going on at once, the privacy would definitely be limited but I experienced no such problems during any of my dances and the dancers will know which pods have the greatest privacy. Dances in these communal rooms are $25 each and there seem to be frequent 3/$60 dollars specials. You pay $10 to the bar each time you go back with a different dancer; if you go back with the same girl, you only have to pay this $10 once. Once in the rooms, you pay the girl the prices for the dances and depending upon the girl, any negotiated tip.
They also have VIP rooms that are quite spacious with nice couches and stripper murals on the walls. Dance in these rooms are timed beginning at increments of 15 minutes and there is a set amount to the club and to the girl before any negotiated tip. I believe the HF were something like $150/15 mins, $200/30 minutes and onward (I did not partake). There is also an entire upstairs with a bar, another stage and table seating. It was not in use either night I was there.
There is circumferential seating around the large stage. There are also chairs with tables and couches along the recessed walls — the potential capacity of this place would be impressive. On the Wednesday I was there, there were probably about 10 dancers. On Friday, there were probably 15-20. The clientele tended to be older (like me) and the overall vibe is quite chill. The management is observant, attentive, and totally unobtrusive during the proper times.
Over the course of the two evenings, it met an enjoyed several girls. The dancers ranged in age from very young (<20) to 40's. On the two nights I was there, there were no absolute stunners but there were certainly attractive girls and types for all tastes. The ones I remember:
Venu. A young short cute curvy girl from Cambodia with natural C-Ds. She told me that she'd had her butt augmented. It was nice — Papi would surely have approved;.
Katushka - (like the rocket?) a slender older white dancer with MM Cs from Russia. She was sensual and sultry (sort of reminded me of some of the dancers at the Playhouse in New Jersey);.
Indica- a tallish, young petite blonde with nose and lip piercings. Natural As (possibly smaller! She had a marvelous pole routine. Discovered that she used to dance in some of the very lame Central PA clubs (that I had been to and previously reviewed);.
Marisol. A shapely young Cuban dancer, long straight dark hair with natural Cs;.
Selena- young long dark hair (said she is Mexican but born a raised in Florida). Wonder natural Bs with very responsive nipples;.
Rosa. An amazingly cute petite young girl. Shoulder length dark hair. Said she was originally from Puerto Rico. She smelled great!
Little sweety- a young white woman of very short stature. Probably due to achondroplasia (think Tyrion Lanaster on Game of Thrones). She seemed very nice.
I ended up getting dances from Venu, Katushka and Selena all in the communal dance rooms. All had ample privacy and all three were fun enjoyable dances. In my limited experience (depending upon the dancer) the 3/$60 special can easily be negotiated into a 5/$100 or more and / or eliminated all together in favor of a "package deal". It seemed that one could always do a 1/$25 (plus $10 to the bartender) as a "test-drive) and if enjoyable, up grade for longer dance at the above rates but as always, YMMV.
So, I had a very fun time at this place. It's probably a good thing that I don't live in Tampa as my retirement fund would be at risk for early depletion. I will definitely return if I am in the area.
