Hopefully one of you old farts (joking) can help me out here. This is honestly the biggest group of older local guys I can consult so I thought I'd respectfully throw it your way.
I've had a bunch of injuries over the years through work and play (two shoulders that need repaired right now) and had surgeries, but I've only taken what pain meds they give me and flush the rest. Now I can see that was a mistake apparently the docs can't hand a damn thing out to people who need it anymore.
Lord we all see how ugly that stuff gets, but I haven't needed anything than Advil or a Tylenol III in about 5 years. Started getting arthritis symptoms in both knees, ankles, hips, lower back, fingers etc) and I got referred out to sports medicine for imaging. They told me to get some over the counter numbing cream and take steroids. Told them when I walked in that I haven't slept a full night in a week and apparently steroids were the answer. Inflammation is going down but I'm on my last nerve.
Anyhow, I've got good insurance and hate going to the doctors, so if I'm going to spend a whole day of my life to get a night's sleep, I don't want to waste my time. Any advice or help from anyone with chronic pain, feel free to msg me. Watched my mom start dealing with this stuff around my age and it isn't pretty.
If it were up to my doctors, I would be hooked on either Percocet or Vicodin right now. I have a very rare spinal condition that puts me in constant chronic pain. 24 hours a day seven days a week it's just nonstop. Anyway, I had never smoke weed other than one time when I was like 20 with a girlfriend. A friend of mineSaw how much pain I was in, and gave me some marijuana and a pipe and told me how to use it. I'm a full believer in medical marijuana now. I smoke it every day, and I mean every day, unless I'm purposely taking a week off so it hits me harder next time LOL. Get your medical card.
