Protection services only go so far as a pimp can't stop what happens behind locked doors. If you want to be protected a can of pepper spray and self defense training is a lot more useful than a pimp who takes your money.

I totally understand the need for some company and someone to bail you put worst case scenario. I just don't feel like pimps are necessary. That's totally my opinion drawing from my own experiences. A close friend or family member can bail you out and you can hook up with another woman for company. I think the "unemployed boyfriend" pimp is more common than not and they don't do much more then live off the woman they are with and are usually rather useless from what I hear. No one "needs" a pimp. I could talk about screening being the first line of defense against anything but that would be beating a dead horse.

I can also understand why some would be wary to see a woman who has a handler. They don't know if he is going to burst in the door and rob them or do something else unpleasant. I think when men see someone they know that she is seeing other guys but they don't want to witness it as it kills the mood.
