As an early poster on this thread, and having been a SD off and on for nearly a decade, I found the direction of this thread and the whole SA thing in general to be very disheartening and disappointing. It's just spreading a nicer title on being an escort and making it accessible to amateurs. I know that's a major portion of what this site is about, and if it works for the people involved, so be it, but it's nothing at all like what I consider a sugar relationship. I've always valued the relationship, and while the financial / sexual commitment to each other is certainly a facet of that relationship, it definitely isn't the entirety of it.
I really enjoy the "daddy" role. Being mentor, caretaker, provider.
I've had babies that needed an allowance to cover rent or tuition, and I've had them that simply wanted to date a man with some resources because "guys (their) age are losers. " I actually had one get giddy when I picked her up because the windows in my car weren't held up with tape. I remain friends with several of my past SBs, even though the "sugar" part of the relationship is long past.
To me this thread is more about Seeking Arrangements and similar sites now than it is about "Sugar Baby / Sugar Daddy [B]Relationships[/B]."
Agreed on all points, gentlemen. The sugar bowl is a tough concept to comprehend for parties on both sides who are not as experienced. I, too, enjoy the relationship aspect. Sharing time together, talking, enjoying dinner, travel, etc. When you find the right lady, it can be fulfilling. Intimacy goes beyond the bedroom and these situations can be meaningful for both parties if it does not merely become transactional. The best candidates are seeking a SD for these reasons alone and not to just have quickie hotel visits in exchange for an "allowance".
With all of that in mind, I cycle off and on the sites like SA. Currently, I deactivated my account after several M&G's with very mixed results. Some show up and are serious, others are just messing around and / or are uncertain what they want. At the end, I put in the time and found a few gals who were I really connected with and were pursuing the same idea of a sugar relationship (because it is a relationship). I have the best times with ladies who are fun and chatty. Time will tell on these, but I feel there are some potentials that could be quite nice.

The type of arrangement times to meet expectations etc. Her personality seemed to be not as friendly as I would like. Pics were ok at best. The only thing she was flexible on was the allowance. A couple things didn't quite add up. She said she was new but had been on the site for over a year. Said she was single but pics and posted on social media showed otherwise. She wanted "chemistry" but asked very few questions about me. Ultimately I decided to put my efforts elsewhere. If it was just one of those things it might be ok but the weight of all of it caused me to pass. Hope she is a better fit for you. Good luck.

It was fun for a while but it is fairly time consuming. If you don't have free time and enjoy the process it may not be your best option. Happy hunting.
