I am reminded of a SB I met for a first date very early in my SD activities as a case in point. I just sat in my car trying to think what to do next. Should I call the police? If I did this whole thing could get real ugly real soon. I did the only thing that I thought made sense. I went back to the gas station and hoped they would return. After several hours it was clear that wasn't going to happen so I went back to the hotel room. I couldn't access her phone because it was locked. I stayed in the hotel room all night. I couldn't sleep and hoped she would return. Her phone was different from mine and ran out of charge. At first light I went to a Target and bought a phone charger that would fit it. While I couldn't access her phone to make calls I could see incoming text messages. The messages were saying that I better return her phone and coat and purse because the police had been notified and would track me using GPS. Holy Shit! So I went back to the hotel. She was in the lobby with several members of her family and the local police were there also. She saw me and gave me a hug. A detective wanted to have a word with me. I was almost pissing my pants. Apparently she told the police that we were old friends, but had no recollection of what had happened the night before other than she remembered we were at the hotel. She must have be one of these people that lose it completely when they drink. I told the cops she was in the lobby and needed a ride home. I told the whole story after that lie exactly as it had happened. Her side of the story continued to be that she didn't remember a thing. The cops thought I gave her a roofie and then raped her, although she was not claiming that. I had to go to the police station while she was at the hospital to be drug and rape tested.
It certainly helped that my record was and is squeaky clean. No arrests. No violations whatsoever, not even as much as a moving violation or even a parking ticket. She, on the other hand, did have a record, and in fact, had been in prison a few months earlier for repeated DUIs. This chick clearly did have quite a problem with alcohol.

However, at the time this incident happened I did have a live-in SO. Fortunately for me she was in the hospital when this happened. I can't even imagine the story I would have to have concocted to explain why I was out all night, let alone if there was any police interaction to have to explain and the specific circumstances therefrom!

I was covered and it was clearly consensual. Besides, she didn't share anything about our tryst either because she didn't want to let anyone know or couldn't remember. Plus I seemed to be a good citizen with no record and my story seemed credible, if a bit bizarre on her part. Maybe they pulled the tape on the security camera at the gas station. if so, they would have seen that what I told them was exactly what happened. Whatever. But I was SO relieved that they just dropped the whole thing.
While she couldn't remember the date she certainly remembered me. We had met on a previous occasion for coffee. And she had remembered me in connection with the hotel but no details. I found a bit more information on line about what I think happened to my date, which follows. Memory loss usually occurs with binge drinking but for some people the sensitivity could be to just a few drinks::
Alcohol and Memory Loss in the Short-Term.
In general the answer to the question of "can alcohol cause memory loss" is yes, it absolutely can.
First, what about short-term memory loss? Memory loss and amnesia are two very common side effects of excessive drinking in the short-term. Binge drinking can cause you to black out, and while you may appear awake and alert, you have no idea what happened the next day. Your short-term memory can start to be affected after only a few drinks in some cases.
The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism defines two types of blackouts occurring as the result of alcohol. The first is called a partial blackout, and this can happen with just a relatively small amount of alcohol. You may forget things like the names of people or information that you would ordinarily be able to recall easily.
A complete blackout refers to a time when you forget everything from a period of time. This also means that your judgment and cognition are completely impaired. People may tell you what occurred while you were binge drinking, and even then you aren't able to recall it.

Essentially when it comes to alcohol and memory loss, blacking out is a form of amnesia, which occurs because the alcohol is altering the activity of the hippocampus in the brain.

Years ago I dated a girl for about a year. This girl liked vodka and cranberry juice. She was very petite and could only handle about 4 drinks. 45% is total made up bull, 50% is what they think makes them attractive to you, 5% true (like if they say vegan etc).
Judge them on picture, communication skills, attentive or have attitude, and most of all price.
I was of the opinion that the holy grail was to score consistent long term SB and life would be sweet.
Well, just ended a 2 year run and before that a 1. 5 year run (both were between 25 and 30 yo).
Was it worth it?
Spent way $$ more than planned. Allowance was managed. The incidentals, dinners, and trips really added up.
Both ended the same way. The more comfortable they get with you, the more you are treated like a boyfriend (not in a good sense).
Less attention, less fun in the FC, more drama, more hassles, and yes, hate to say it, heartache.
Now need to start fresh in the bowl and dealing with much more unrealistic SD expectations than in years past.
Would have been better if I kept a rotation going and stayed aloof.
Let a few good ones slip away and now are nowhere to be found.
