Man's Best Friend the Dog
Maybe same, inadequate sewage line; not designed to handle the amount of waste generated by businesses and residential there. Just imo. Get the smell from a few bars in the area when their lines are clogged.
Hey maybe you should bring your dog to find out which KBG is the guilty party for all that smelly sewage. He'll run straight to the source as in this link! Ha ha, no excuses.

La Novia (ex-4 seasons) Any Report?
La Novia's been open 3 nights now I believe. Still no reports. ?. I'm sure someone's been there. I like the name. It's unique and means girlfriend or fiance in Spanish. BeerAddict gave a 2nd hand observation saying the refurbishments looked good but zero ladies. Hopefully a few have trickled in by now. Mahalo.

La Novia (ex-4 seasons) Great Report
Here's my pretty detailed report of the former Four Seasons, now called La Novia. My buddy checked it out on Friday and he said the place has been nicely renovated. He said there were no girls while the bar was busy in the late afternoon but pretty slow at night. I decided to check it out myself on Saturday night to start and Sunday evening as well to catch the end of the Patriots game. As reported, the place has been renovated and it looks pretty good. Best decor in Kalihi for sure if you're into that kind of thing.
The place was pretty dead on Saturday night. Big bar on left still remains while the two smaller bars have been consolidated into one larger one in the far corner where the pool table and dart boards once stood. Back bar had local bar back Mark, who's a cool guy and skinny Russian girl Sasha working. They had more customers than the bar in front. Big bar in front had no bartender, just a local bar back who is a real cool guy. Migi mama told me the bartender was out sick that night and that the dart boards and pool table will return soon. Dart boards will now be where the center bar once was, on the other side of the restrooms. The place was really dead, only about 6-8 customers total.
Julie, former mama at current Five-0 location now works there. Still drinks like crazy and was pretty much the life of the party. The only girls there on Saturday were Angie, Julie, Kay and a new young girl named Hannah. She's actually not bad by Kalihi standards, you can tell she is new to the bar scene. Bought her a good luck drink just to get some recon on her and stayed solo the rest of the night. Sat with her for about an hour and she only got one drink. Of course the place was slow so she didn't really have an opportunity to table hop on me. All you guys who are into younger girls who are new to KB's, Hannah is your girl. Seems like mid to late twenties, small tattoo on her shoulder, nice little rack and smells like "fresh meat". LOL Angie seems like the only heavy hitter there. None of the other girls returned from before their sudden closure. I guess they all found new homes and never came back. The place looks real good, just need to get some girls in their besides Angie and Hannah and they will be booming.
Not sure if the kitchen mama is still the same but the food taste winnahs! House food was fried noodles and fried chicken. Along with my kim chee, I was pretty much good to go for the night.
On Sunday, I was there in the late afternoon to check out the game and the same girls along with a couple of 50+ year olds were on the floor. Nothing major to report from Sunday except to say that the food was pretty damn good even though my Colts lost. LOL.
Hope this helps CONTRIBUTE info to the page, unlike some others out there. Just kidding bros, no need take um so personal. LOL.
Be safe brothers.
Wow. Covered all bases. Lay out, decor, food, ladies. The report by which all future reports must be judged. (must have had excellent schooling) LOL. Actually even the little tid-bits that come along are helpful and appreciated although it was great to have this comprehensive starter missive. Mahalo BA.
Kaina.
I have to agree. Education shows (experience in the bars).

Kaina.
Thanks for the info BA now we get one more place too check out after Green Tea. On next outing. Mahalo! Kalihi has always been my last stop before home since in my back yard so to speak. That is if I get out of Kapiolani before closing. LOL. Bad habits are back.
No young girls in Kalihi, but
Had the same curiosity and left with the same verdict. I checked out green tea which was typical for kalihi standards, islander which was completely dead, and spotlite was also just ok. No girls under 40 at any of the places. For chill time with friends, yeah kalihi is good other than that I got no clue what the hype is all about.
The "girls" in town, not so young themselves anymore. Got a whole bunch that are over 40. Young'uns are somewhere around 38 these days.
Wednesday outing with another senior member.
We started the night at La Novia as BA reported place renovated I finally got to meet Yujin the bartender everyone has been talking about. Nice lady, nice spread of food big place only front bar had customers, the back bar was empty. Had a few and then left. We then headed to town: Casino the bar was full didn't want to sit on table was walking out and Yuka came running after us. I didn't see her but she had a customer asked we come back. Then off to Evergreen considering early the bar was also full, At this point just wanted a drink so headed to Club Talent. Bar was empty, except for Betty and her table. I said hello and got updated. Headed to Casino after that walked through Yuka still had customer and bar was still semi-full so headed out and ended next door at Summit there was a large group there but same excellent service as soon as we sat down at the bar guy took drink order and offered pupu's as we had eaten declined but the thing is so far I have always been served promptly and always offered pupu's here. Good service!
We had one, and headed to Splash. We walked in and the place was crowded my friend had 2 booths side by side but was full of the regulars there so we ended up in a booth off to the side, the bar was full both of them. Naomi 2 served our table and although we had eaten the boiled peanuts were addicting you can't eat just one. Korean style sushi and kimchee was what she had. Naomi usually has something in back not always but usually as usual she bought us a round. I usually leave after last call. Last call for alcohol! But ended up for one at Evergreen, been a long while the only thing familiar was Mori at the sushi bar. Man that place fills up fast after 2 AM. Service was fast at the table not sure who served us but older lady. It is still a meat market there but when I left after one, the ratio of guys to women was slightly off. . I got a few hints and suggestions again from the senior member I was with but all in all a mellow and enjoyable evening. Good company, good food, good conversation, and some eye candy at Splash.
Ellie got three girls in from Korea one is a looker one of the guys told me her name but sorry forgot it you won't be able to miss her she looks great and she knows it, she also dresses accordingly. Go check it out. . but bring some cash or your credit card (s)!
