Ago, I was robbed at gun point at one of the run down west coliseum establishments. I arrived, they gave me the room number and said the door would be cracked and to come on in. When I opened the door there was a thug standing behind it. He closed the door and stood in front of it with a 9 mm pointed at me and demanded all my money which all I had on me was the donation. Gave it to him and he let me out of the room. Now I carry but what was I going to do? Not a good feeling. So I very rarely visit anyone at hotels. Only if they're a well known provider that happens to be there and even then, I get there at least 30 minutes prior to check out who's coming, going, etc. But again, I would only do this if they were a provider I trust and have seen many times before.

The best advice is do your homework on the provider before ever agreeing to meet them. Use the info members on this board write about providers. You can also use the search functions on this board to search their name. It has been very helpful to me. Google the providers phone number, do name and image searches. I never see anyone without going through this process. The big head has to rule over the little one if you want to stay safe!

As for seeing someone at a hotel, I've not had any issue. However, that may be because as an unbreakable rule, I stay away from certain areas in town. I also watch ads very closely. If a new ad catches my eye, I watch to see if it runs multiple days. If it's a one and done ad, I take a pass.

I also text with unknown providers a little bit to see if anything is amiss. Often, they are just as cautious if not more so than we are and will understand some healthy skepticism.

As for meeting SPs at hotels, it really is a mixed bag. The advice to do tons of research and take things carefully is good.
