Sit down, have something to drink and as she is leaving you hand her $150 and tell her to buy something pretty for your get together later that night. She gives you her room number and a time. You show up later and no money is exchanged. You hit it off and have sex. LE good luck getting a prostitution charge to stick in that scenario.
BTW, how many times has one of us helped out a woman we were dating financially not because we were paying for sex but because we had the means. Money exchanged between two people does not mean an act of prostitution has taken place.
The internet and cell phones provide some great opportunities to be smarter about your personal activities. It is not LE's business how much you paid for that cat listed on Craigslist or BackPage. Naturally when you go to pick it up the owner is going to expect payment. If she happens to want to enjoy the company of a fellow cat lover, that is her (and your) choice.
Government should spend its resources on going after pimps, pedophiles and helping addicts get into drug treatment programs. This is what civilized countries of the world do. This latest MBI "bust" and its attempt to use the media to shame the victims is nothing short of disgusting and should raise the ire of every freedom loving American. How many other misdemeanors result in the media being called to sensationalize the alleged crimes and the victims of an overzealous gestapo style police force propagandizing the faces and personal information of alleged perpetrators?
It's simply a double standard if they have a suspicion of you committing solicitation you are doing it the country no longer has to prove without a reasonable doubt partly because of media wanting and looking for a story and willing to destroy your life to get ratings. They no longer need to prove you guilty they just need to have a suspicion that your doing something wrong. Part of it is people who have no knowledge of how to defend themselves say nothing other than identifying yourself what crime have I committed and can I go on my way admit to nothing if you are being detained shut up and ask for a lawyer.

Police are overstepping the bounds trying to please a vocal conservative constituent. Heck, I consider myself Conservative in politics, but am liberal in other things such as "Dreaming".
I remember when I was in college and they tried to regulate the price of tickets to sporting events to no more than the face value of the ticket. The scalpers got around it by saying they had a Pen and a Ticket for sale as a package deal. Of course it was a cheap $0. 50 pen, but who cares. I wanted that ticket and paid more than twice the face value many times. Not sure how it would have done in court, but it was what all the scalpers were doing. Of course, now we have place like Stub Hub and selling for more than the face value is common.
Anybody know who the provider was? PM if you prefer.
Dieter.

I saw a report on Channel 9 about the Blossom Park condos. When I searched Ch 9's web site I found some video clips, but no articles. Here's the by-line of one video "Residents of the troubled Blossom Park condominiums on West Landstreet Road received letters from the fire marshal saying that if there was ever an emergency, the fire department would not be able to help. " This is unbelievable. If the building is not safe for firefighters to go into, why is it not condemned? This sounds to me like a ploy by the OCFD, in cohorts with the OCSO, to scare the residents into dispersing since many of the SW's are living there.

The place has been going thru financial duress, bankruptcy, etc so I guess there's no money to repair the shit hole. A few of the stairwells are collapsing, balconies look like roller coasters, etc. They have forced a lot of people to move out, ultimately with the plan to shut the place down. This is why the fire trucks are camped out in the entrance 24/7. I even saw on of them with what looked like a pair of binoculars, unusual for a firefighter, hmmm. They pass intel to the LEO and they are there in case of an emergency, they can quickly respond. By law they must! Even though the fire dept station is less than a mile up the road around the corner on La Quinta drive. Their big master dream is move everyone out, sell the place and have someone with $$$ renovate it and not be a drug and prostitution hole anymore.

Is that illegal?[/QUOTE]Almost never does a guy get nailed with known providers who may or may not ask for up front money. The problem happens when you call a BP provider who is really a cop and she leads you into a solicitation conversation ' Go ahead and get comfortable handsome, I need to finish getting ready and BTW what were you wanting, I need to get ready if you want Greek. "No hun, no greek, only a BJ and missionary" "Ok, are we still good with the $150 you said on the phone which is my usual donation? "yeah baby, its right here on the nightstand" Bingo! Sex for money. Or any variation of this conversation. Cops will generally try and get you to talk illegally on the phone, if you do you will be arrested when you show up.
What is your defense if you answer an obvious be / P ad, you called and made an appointment, drove to a motel or home, walked in took off your clothes, gave her $* donation for her time and mentioned you like oral sex best.
Just remember judges and juries are not stupid folks—stick a fork in yourself—you are cooked.
Now in some of the situations like Pharmaguy presents here, where's the crime? You can screw anyone you want and give your money to whomever you want but you can't tie the two together in any way. —VS.
I like what PharmaGuy said.
"What if you? Go meet a provider, hook up and then after its over say "hey I found this $ outside your door on the ground, it must be yours" and then place it on the night stand or wherever. Is that illegal?"
But we al know the cops can and will turn it around, besides you are all over the internet. Tv and the news when you are arrested which is worst. As you can beat most cases but your name will not.
