The way I read that gun laws were if you are in a place were thay have a no gun policy I. E. Walmart to bugerking and they know you had a gun you would be asked to leave. Now if you enter a state or federal bulding even with a permit it a good chance that you would be looking at a felony to at least having a lousy afternoon talking to uncle leo. For myself I don't carry a weapon when I see a provider one if I was robbed I would not want the robber to get it and possible use it on me or someone else. Or having the provider seeing the weapon and thinking the worse ad having to deal with that. Now that the way I handle it and not implying that Gray0630 should as he has every right to carry.

Hopefully no one is meeting providers in a federal building or Walmart then. If so, be sure to leave your gun in the car. Good advice.

Thanks for looking out though![/QUOTE]What I meant was that if you are engaged in an activity that would otherwise be a misdemeanor, and can be charged as such, the possession of a weapon, not just a gun, can make it a felony charge instead. That's irrespective of where you are, or whether the premises permits weapons.

So, if you were required to defend yourself from, say, a girl's pimp trying to rob you, and the cops were to show up and decide that you were in fact engaged in prostitution, and they chose to charge you with that, it could be upgraded to a felony. That's not really all that farfetched, either, because if the cops can show that the robbery was part and parcel of your engagement with the woman, then your "self-defense" argument can be invalidated.

You might consider such a scenario to be unlikely, but it [I]is [/I]something of which to be aware.

Even if the property is posted with "no weapons" signs, IIRC it only becomes a crime if they ask me to leave and I refuse, and even then it's just a trespassing charge.
