Of course there are sometimes disadvantages, but "hunting" on the streets downtown can provide a more stimulating sense of adventure than merely going to a relaxation/massage business. I enjoy both. :)

Anyone thinking about possessing a gun in his vehicle should carefully check the strict requirements of the Hawaii firearms laws. Otherwise, that can result in a felony conviction (even if the gun wasn't used to do anything).

Yes, either the inside of the vehicle or the outside. Protecting the outside of the vehicle can be more difficult (because the hobbyist is usually inside). In the past, I've had both a windshield wiper and a side mirror damaged. If angry enough, some may even throw an object (a rock or anything else that's available) at the vehicle to try to damage a window or the paint.

Very wise advice. I used to pack all the time when mongering. Not that I thought of using it on a SW. It was more for protection in case someone wanted to mess with me while parked. This was when I was younger and more hot-headed of course and had a lot less to lose. Hawaii Laws suck regarding firearms and while having the gun in your car may make you feel better, the consequences outweigh the need IMHO. Hawaii is far safer than mainland cities and as long as you use good judgement you shouldn't need it. Besides, for those of you thinking you can just pull it on someone in your car, you might want to think that through. In such close quarters, you won't have much of an advantage unless that person is so intimidated by the weapon that they comply. If you do use it in the car, it'll make a huge mess, you'll go deaf for at least 30 seconds and you'll have permanent hearing damage(that numb ringing sensation is not cool). All this on top of drawing all the wrong kinds of attention to yourself. Not so bad if you are in a stolen vehicle IF you can get away but then you are constantly at risk of being pulled over and arrested for Grand Theft, plus the weapons charges. Keeping it in a locked, hidden compartment in the trunk complies more with the law but then you have to find some explaination of how you were on your way home from your business or a firing range if you do get caught. Also watch those high-cap mags, if they are in the weapon, it is a felony. If you have the high-caps out of the weapon, it's a misdemeanor. Knowning those technicalities can save you a lot of legal hassles and potentially make the difference between you going to jail or getting probation.

Again, I acted calm, spoke calmly and dropped her off at a liquor store. What the hell else can you do? Who wants to go to jail for fighting with a SW? "Yes your Honer, I hit punch her but it was the principle of the thing. " "Son, I commend you on having the courage of your convictions. Meet your new roomie his name's OJ. "
Yet another time I was ripped off for $20 and vowed to get even. Found the girl working the street some days later. Parked my car, ran up to her and grabbed her by the wrist. I forget what my plan was or if I had one, but her pimp or bf came stomping up and demanded I let her go. Not having any good options in sight I did. Punch him, tackle her and turn out her pockets? Uh, not a good plan. We play this game we run into crazy no win situations, given time. I've been robbed a couple other times too. Nothing really to be done about it unless jail seems like fun. My bad for choosing poorly and not knowing the rules (these events all happened quite a few years ago if that lets me off the hook). You did the right thing by cutting your losses.
Still yet another time I had a SW refuse to get out of my car. It took a lot of shouting and I think $5 to finally get her gone. What a drag these scenes are. Over the years I've picked up well over 100 girls and though the vast majority of them were straight dealing with me, the ones that aren't sure leave an impression. The upshot is that nowadays I'm extremely careful about who I pick up. So careful that I haven't picked up anyone in years in the States. Now I go to Thailand where the girls are as easygoing as they are easy.

Yes, I've also experienced that type of Jekyll/Hyde situation at various times over the years, and it's been related to the drug use and/or mental illness of the providers involved. Sometimes it can be completely unexpected. For example, once I was inside my vehicle with a downtown provider I had known for years without any problems, but on that night we were unable to agree about the price while discussing a potential date. I calmly said that I would drop her off and talk with her on some other night. In response, she exploded with anger, started shouting, and punched me in the head (fortunately with no injury). Subsequently she apologized, explaining that the incident had occurred because of a drug binge that had lasted for several days.

One weirdo, can't remember her name she was a mental woman with a name that started with "V" (Veronica, Virginia.. something) She was nice, cool and willing to do anything for a bit of cash, or whatever she was wanting. One time got a BBJ for a soda, was going very nicely. Then when I popped, she opened her mouth and started spitting it all over the place. I was kinda like WTF?!? Then another time same girl and I went to a nice place, I gave her the money for FS, only to have her fall asleep soon as she got the money. Poked, prodded her, tried to wake her up. Finally removed her clothes myself (was still sleeping) and proceeded to get firsts, sloppy seconds, and a terrible third. She was just sleeping away. (Its very hard to do BBFS with a sleeping girl in a car.) Had a hard time waking her up and getting her out of the car so I could go home. Was tempted to grab my money back, but heck... I got three pops for the price of one, who was I to complain. Maybe I should've taken her home, but she got more and more nuts as I dated her. (She made a fist near her cheek when drinking a soda, and when I drank mine she made a fist and put it near my cheek also. Started to say how she got some nice Star Fruit, and said it was also known as Jesus Fruit since its shaped like a star and Jesus had a star above him at birth.) I think she was some mental patient, and the meds she needed to stay 'normal' was getting out of her system or something.
Another old timer I used to like was Rosey, girl who used to dye her hair. Had her a few times, she seemed cool, but then one day out of the blue went completely freaking nuts, and never stopped being nuts. Initial dates were GFE, but the last couple she was yelling at me, was tweaking and threatened to punch me out if I didn't let her do it HER way. She tried to fist and squeeze HJ/BJ, not like the fisting BJs you see in pornos (never liked those BJs anyway), but disappointing service. Never picked her up again after that.

Oh yea, sometimes its a good idea to hide the money someplace, or maybe even hit the ATM AFTER you get the girl. On three occasions, I've had girls pull a knife on me. TWO of them were early when I started in DT and had accidentally picked up a mahu and was trying (in vain) of trying to get them OUT of the car. Gave em a $20, and let them out. One though was a cute black girl I had picked up from Longs side. I thought she was going to be cool, but then when going down Kukui St. she pulls a knife on me and demands $2.00 lucky for me, by this time I had taken steps to dating. I carried a mostly empty wallet (no ids, nothing with only a few dollars in it although I did leave the CostCo and a few of those Supercuts, and other discount cards). Told her I didn't have any money and opened up the wallet. Showed her I only had around $7 (literally what was inside). She grabbed the $7 and got out of the car. She didn't find my ids and the real money I had stashed away on the side.
On occasion, I'd actually pick up the girl and ask them what kind of donations they are looking for. If the price is right, I usually tell them I gotta hit a ATM. I'll then proceed to drive them to a bank, keep an eye on them in the car while I grab the cash or use that drive up to ATM near the Motor Vehicle Registration place on Dillingham, near HCC. Most of the muggers want to get the money quick, they don't wanna stay in the car longer than they have to. Driving to the bank, most girls don't mind a short detour. Usually afterwords, After I got mugged the first time, a 'friend' in town told me to let my regulars know about the mugger. The working girls don't take to kindly to muggers, since its bad business. One thing to rip off each other, but a few know that if the Johns get mugged, there is much less of us around, which means less money.
Runners

I haven't met a 'runner' in a long time though. Most of them, try get you to give them the money before you park someplace, and then when at a stop light will try and run like crazy in the opposite direction. Had that happen only once, after that I don't bother giving money to the girl until my pants are down and we are parked in a nice secluded spot. I've had maybe two girls try and get in the car, but hold the door semi-closed and ask for money before they do anything or discuss anything. Those, I usually drop off, or start driving so they either leave or they properly close the door and we start the real negotiations. I haven't been really seeing this type of RoB in a LONG time. Last time was roughly 15 years ago when most of the girls were still around in the main Chinatown area with all the one way streets and it was easier to run in the opposite direction.

Best that I recall happened over 15 years ago when I picked up a young cute black girl with an afro by McDs, she said she needed a ride, but started tripping bad in 10 minutes. I took her to my place after she started giving me directions in circles. She told me she was a Professional *****. She threw up when she existed my car and could barely walk. I hesitated about what to do and thought about taking her to an emergency room, but she refused and appeared to be very happy. She got better after she took a shower in my house and I found out she was on drugs. I had just purchased a 466 MHZ computer the week before, she spent 18 hours playing Ms. Packman. Here is the strange part, every time she got a Game Over or finished a level, she shouted Salvation Time and came for more BJ action. At one point I slept and ran out of erections, which "ruined her game. " I had 18 hours of this, then she slept for 12 during which I mounted her twice more. When she woke up, she washed her shirt which she puked on, dried with with a hair dryer then asked me to take her to McDs where she WORKED. We were greeted at her work by police and her husband who was filed a missing person report. I was questioned by police for over an hour before they let me go. During this time I had 12 Polaroids in my pocket showing all kinds of action.- they would have come in handy if she claimed I abducted her or something. I never at at McDs since.

She spaces out? Might explain things. Every SW is on the street for something, but I never got the sense she was a crack head. Always wondered what was wrong with her. Thought she was too smart of a woman to be an SW.
