I worked up there on and off for a year, and I have to agree with Mike61 and say that you're probably better off going on PD. Union Avenue can be pretty rough. I thought DTLA Skid Row had some ragged walkers, but Union is another sort of ragged. I was offered a $20 BJ by a transient in the Barnes & Noble parking lot on California.
