I can second Sam's experience. I have managed to have some success fishing in the personals section on CL. Sam's right. Replying to ads is a complete waste. The sheer number that are fake alone makes getting through to, and making an impression on, the few real ones a statistically bad bet. Your best bet is to write something that comes off as sincerely felt even if it crafted specifically to get replies. Second, borrow some tips from game techniques. A while ago I ran a successful series using a game-style neg. It took a while to get it written right. But once I got something that tweaked the girls sense of pride, they started replying. Not exactly in droves, but enough to get solid leads.
