I am 100% convinced that having drink quotas and aggressively enforcing them (and removing pool tables) is the key to the longivity of clubs. So many once-great or at least "once-okay" clubs like Sportsmans and the Doll seem to have fallen apart precisely because they let any jackass hangout and harass the girls without spending money. That is no doubt a downtown phenomenon more than in the suburbs as these wannabes seemed to want to hold court in the downtown clubs, and my not have cars to get out to the suburbs.

A places like Cheaters/PP is 100% about business and do not screw-around. But it also means you will run through a lot of money fast. Places like Sportsmans and the Doll should be making every customer drop at least $40 an hour, so 2.5 hours you've dropped $100 on girls or bar. That is a bout 10 minutes at PP but is a reasonable amount for going out and having an experience rather than just a hit-and-run.

At Sportmans, et al, you have a growing number spending nothing or next to nothing per hour, which quickly turns into a vicious cycle where both the quality of girls and customers rapidly deteriorates.

at the Sportsman's Lounge. The place was owned by the father of the owner of Fantasies. He ran the place fast and loose, with some decent women...then he died and another son took over. The son doesn't have a clue what to do...he had a chance to make the place over, and hired a guy who had a sandwich store in town to run the place. But he would not pay the freight for the improvements that really needed doing, and his manager just does not really give a shit anymore. His biggest mistake was not keeping access to the parking lot behind the hotel/club building. It's hard to imagine not being able to make a deal, unless those who control the lot want to force him out of business.

Everything there has gone downhill because of the downward spiral of earnings potential for dancers, bartenders and other staff. There are no really good bartenders there, and the waitresses concentrate more on selling lapdances than drinks. The formula of allowing waitresses to dance for customers used to work...but now it only serves to make it easier for freeloaders to stand around without drinks in their hands.

In the last few years any good dancers who have showed up there soon realize they can do better elsewhere, and move to another club. The Sportsman has jokingly been characterized as "...the place old strippers go to die." It's a perfect example of the "Appalachian Effect" - if a beginner is any good, she moves on quickly. Only the dregs remain.

The place could be salvaged, but it would take radical change. Unfortunately, the people running the show there don't have a clue.

The place was almost deserted and the bartender was immersed in some endless conversation. There were no waitresses to be seen. I watched a few bored dancers, all of whom ignored me after they left the stage, then finally left with my roll of $$ and went to PP. Normally I'm a little more aggressive in seeking attention but I actually wanted to see how long I could sit in this place and not have anyone even attempt to extract one dime from me.

The extra cost could be considered the premium associated with the elimination of the risk associated with buying on the street. The chance that you'll go to jail and have your car impounded is vastly smaller if you are in one of those booths...then again, perhaps the reduced legal risks are offset by the chance that you'll catch some exotic disease that is festering in the booth.

Oh well...who the hell knows.....

I see them advertising on CL now - I've ignored this place to date due to prior sour experiences with "lingerie modeling" joints that were "all looking/no touching". Does anyone know if the good living that has so throughly infected its next door neigbor has improved the character of services in Club 253 - the girls in their pics on CL were quite cute.

Viejo, the safety factor is a big selling point, not just because you're inside but because it's just flat out legal to have sex for money indoors in Rhode Island....something which people should be exploiting to a greater degree than they currently are and for as long as it lasts.

I don't see how this is possible since the house gets $30 for every fifteen minutes that you are in the booth. The girl can obviously do whatever she wants but the club wants their cut.

...but just so no one can be confused, what's illegal are pandering and solicitation, with specific references to being outside on the street or in a vehicle. [b][i] Prostitution is legal anywhere - because there is no specific prohibition of the exchange of money for sex in Rhode Island law.[/b][/i] There are references to houses of prostitution that could become a "public nuisance", and references to forcing someone to engage in prostitution - but taking money for sex is okay! It's really an interesting approach...it enables law enforcement to concentrate on the more obvious and distasteful forms of prostitution, but leaves it alone as long as it is discreet. Why the hell not, really - it's always been with us, always will be with us - so why go after prostitution in its least obvious and harmful forms?

PZ is right on the money about risk management...given that the quality is generally higher, the risk way lower, the club scene is the way to go!

for the five buck cover to get up there

I think PZ & BG57 have their wires crossed on CF lingo. Upstairs at CF has booths (3 non full height walls & a chair) and champagne room (private room with door & a chair). The booths are free, the girls owes the club $5 for every dance except on Monday & Tuesday when its $5 for every 2 dances. The champagne room the costumer owes the club $30 for use of the room, but he gets two free drinks.

....on Monday and Twosday, the 5 buck per dance charge is waived, so that 2 songs are only 20 bucks to the customer. Also for now, on both days, plus Wednesday, the cover for the upstairs room is waived after 6 - the front door charge covers access to the whole club.

This was initiated to attempt restoration of lost business.

Oh - it was 2 drinks a long time ago, but now it's only one.

Yeah, the "booths" along the far wall on both floors are free on Monday and Tuesday. The champagne rooms at the back of the second floor are never free.
Also, dancers are not allowed to dance full nude anywhere but in the champagne rooms. There is no cover to go upstairs on Monday and Tuesday. I have found it to be pretty much un-monitored up there on slow days....and I always go on slow days!

The price on Monday and Tuesday is 2 for $20 but many girls cut their own deals-in either direction so beware. A hot Dominican girl named Sahara gave me HJ earlier this fall in one of the free "booths" downstairs but then tried to charge me full price telling me that the two fers where only on Tuesday now...I knew better and she apologized and got a little embarrassed...great HJ but watch out, the Dominicans are all mercenaries.

The deal in the CR is either a split of champagne or one drink.

I thought that the only place to get extras was at Cheaters AKA Pink Palace. Seems like there is stuff going on at CF...Is that Club Fantasies? I mostly get to Providence on fridays, never during the earlier part of the week, my loss.

PP is a place where you can drop a lot of money *fast* on women who would be out shanking you in the streets of Sao Paolo if not at that club.

I am not trying to be a jackass about it or pick a fight, but it seems your poll and/or the assessment of PP is one dimensional. I.e., -- is "best" determined solely by access to full service?

PP is not a place I would hang-out for a couple hours, or bring a bachelor party (unless the only goal was 100% certainty that he/we would get laid) or where I'd do a quick stop when I am in town. For me it would be CF, SD, Desire and even Sportman's depending (clearly hit-or-miss as I have reported).

At SD ('Satin Doll' for the uninitiated) I have had a much better time than any other clubs in the Northeast -- nursing a beer, while actually enjoying talking to a dancer on my lap, then only dropping $$ when getting very sensual lapdances which have left me satisfied 9 out of 10 times. Not something I would expect at PP.

I used to go to the PP/CH but in the last couple of years just found it to be so expensive for any excerise that would be better done at an in-call for less money and less rush. It used to be that the dollar dances were fun and a cheap way to try out the dancers, but I don't even think they do that any more (do they?) Either way the stage aspect has become a sideshow or ruse for the real purpose of the private booths.

The downside with an incall service is that you do not have any choice of diversity of the provider (at least by the time you arrive). But at PP chances are you're going to be limited to one-shot, unless you're a Saudi prince or dot-com millionaire. So the reason I would go to a stripclub instead of an incall applies to PP for me (i.e., at a SC I am looking to interact with and otherwise sample a lot of different women). But I am willing to accept I may be alone on that, and that popular sentiment is that the best SC is where you get laid the fastest.

Another approach is this -- take the girls away and would you go there? May seem like a stupid question, but I would actually hang out at the Satin Doll, Sportman's (during the day at least) and maybe CF for their virtue as dive bars -- but PP has zero appeal other than as a place to get laid.

Worst are Foxy, Cadillac, Balloons, Studio 253 (not necessarily in that order, but they're all dreadful!)

C'mon, PZ - it sounds like there might be a good story behind your feelings about CL! I too would put CL low on the list, perhaps for different reasons, mostly because they have moved in the direction of FL in terms of coming up with more zero-value-added ways to take your money. Then again - CL has a few pretty good dancers who know how to please.

PP is a great place because if you are in a hurry, it's faster, more reliable and far safer than the street. If you are looking for a comfortable, classy bar with strippers as a place to chill, then PP goes right to the bottom of the list, and for now, Desire assumes the top position if you use those criteria.

CF is probably next...variety, fairly good food - but it's on a downslide because so many of its quality dancers have flown the coop. Management here does not know how to really keep [b]both[/b] customers and dancers/staff happy.

Hmmmm...I guess it really comes right down to what you want on a given day. The really great thing about Providence is that there's something for everyone. If you are in a mood for sleaze, there's a perfect spot...if you are in the mood for good decorum, you can find that too. And everything is so close together that you can sample it all in one day!!!

It really don't get much better than that...

I agree Cadillac Lounge was a dump 3 years ago, the last time I was there and won't go back again. I used to split my time between Cheaters and Club Fantasies to warm up for an AMP session. IMHO Club Fantasies has slipped badly but can make a comeback but I haven't been there in over a year. Cheaters is the best of the bunch but can get expensive between the fees for the Godiva and the private dances in the booths or the topless areas.

The other day I met Jaime a 7-8 enhanced who wants to make big $. She wanted to get me in a booth but I opted for 2 dances in the topless area. She will go offsite for heavy bread. She wants to go to a brothel in Nevada. I explained to her that these are not legal in Vegas, Clark County but she could go up to Parumph in the next county to the Chicken Ranch or one of those but the competion is stiff. Anyway I would recommend her.

After the holidays I will trek back to south Florida and maybe hit Vegas in the spring and check out one of the brothels as I haven't been to one for a while.

Been to the Cherry Patch and the Chicken Ranch. Though most of the women are 9s and 10s the prices are off the map. If I am going to spend a grand or more for a lady I'd much rather fly to Amsterdam, DR or Bangkok and do 10 to 20 ladies just as good looking. When I go to Vegas I have always found the escorts are a much better deal......better yet find some lady looking to kick all the way back do what "stays in Vegas", plenty of them out there.

is the worst club in Providence???? Not as long as the Sportsman's and Satin Doll are still around.

I go to a specific club to see a dancer that I like. When Mario's in Johnston closed years ago many of the dancers there migrated to the recently opened Cadillac Lounge. For a while CL was the best deal in Providence. Yes, they got greedy and, much like Fantasies, they are now paying the price. I still go there because two of the absolute best lap dance experiences I have ever had are from ladies who still work at the Cadillac Lounge. If I like the girl and I'm getting what I want out of the experience I could give a rat's ass what club she works in.

When arguing "best" or "worst" we need a yardstick.

Over the last 10+ years, on average my best experiences have been at the Doll (and I will drive 60 min to go there before driving 20 minutes to go a Mass club).

Over the last 2 years or so, management changes at the Doll led to some stupid decisions on their part. But that seems to have normalized. Like all clubs, the girls come and go. It may be that the Doll is suffering the same fate of all clubs, as the girl-next-door types are displaced by Brazilians, Dominicans, and others who do more for less, but eventually erode the culture of the club.

If you're looking for a pseudo "Gentleman's Club" that insults the sensabilities of even a horny 18-year-old with a fake ID, then go to FL. If you're looking for SW service at Nevada prices, go to Cheaters. If you're looking for a Strip Club, however, I think the Doll is a good choice. What's the counter argument?

There is none. No yardstick is needed. Everyone one of us has different likes/dislikes. I like big tits, you don't. Who's right, you or me? That's the reason they make chocolate and vanilla. I no longer do strip clubs. I just got tired of paying for overpriced drinks and under performing women. That's just my experience. Yours can and will be different. There is no right or wrong, just preference. No one can say A is better than B, it's all what you perceive to be the "best".

btw years ago my cousin was a bouncer at the Sportsman. That my friend was an experience I wish all of you could have shared. I was also friendly with the son of the man who owned the Gemini. His "unofficial" bachlor party was held there. Truly a experience not to be forgotten.

Not really .... I just tried the place repeatedly out of fairness and because I happened to be in the area ,
and vowed never to return each time I left

Yeah I've been to the Sportsman's and it sucks. Once thought about staying at the hotel and ordering room service but found out that wasn't a good idea. Never bothered with Satin Doll. Foxy Lady is overpriced.

Hey TH, you are right about the prices in the Nevada brothels. You have to negotiate like hell and make sure you specify exactly what you want because you won't get any more than that. Probably if I go to Vegas I will do the usual 2-4 am bar scene as that has worked well in the past.

Actually, the best take is Montreal. They have everything and the prices are right even with the slipping US$.

It`s almost impossible to find a club, especially during the day when I`m in action, where you can see full nudity on stage. Most only go topless, many now don`t even dance!

I can`t go 10 mins in a club anymore without the "hustle" either. I like to check things out, see who`s dancing etc, not be constantly asked to go "upstairs or in the back." If I were an out of town businessman, it probably would be great to charge sex at these clubs on my business expense reports at minimum $180 a shot [when you add in fees etc.] But for a monger who works too hard for his money, these quickies are not for me. So for me NO club is worth anything at all, right now.

Maybe CF if you catch a looker upstairs is okay, but they are hard to find there, and by the time I find one, I may have been hustled 10 times or so. I`m not sure if they go nude at the Foxy daytimes, but Ive never been a fan of the place, with their watered down drinks and decidedly unfriendly staff.

As most of the guys agree, it all depends what you`re "looking for."

You need to check out the Foxy Lady in Brockton Mass.
If you want to watch gorgeous full nude women, tip a few bucks at the stage and then buy a few medium one way contact full nude dances at $20 each there is no place better in either RI or Mass.
