Ripoff Reports

I had a very good exchange over text and she seemed incredibly genuine. 150 hhr Maybe that should have been my first clue. She asked me to drive to a convenience store on Whitewood Avenue in the northern part of Waterbury. She asked me to text her when I got there, and I did. She came to the car and she looks exactly like her pictures. It is about a 5 story apartment building across the street from the store and we drove over together. We go up to her apartment and I put down the donation. She took it and counted it. She went through about 2 minutes of talking about ex-boyfriends and knocking out some woman who ended up with him. Right at about that exact moment, there is a knock on the door and she acted angry (truly acting) and told the person to go away. She then said that everything is fine. About a minute or two later, she leaves and says that she needs to take care of something. I'm waiting about 5 minutes and looked in the closets. No one. I went to pee and the toilet was clogged with turds in it. The whole place was disgusting. All of a sudden I hear the door open and this old toothless woman with a cane comes walking in asking who I was (all part of the set-up) and says "I don't want no trouble" and "you have to leave or I am going to call someone. " A few minutes later there is a knock on the door again and a 20 something guy who is clearly on some form of opiate comes walking in and in a completely fake manner acts like he is her boyfriend and this feigned hurt and saying something like "it looks like it happened again". He even had like a lunchbox in his hand and said he just got off work. You just can't make this stuff up. I told him I wanted my money back and he said that I would probably not get it. At that moment, another 20 something guy walks in and asks what is going on and the old lady told him she did not know me and that I needed to leave. He was courteous and asked me where my coat was, and I told him it was in my car. I walked out and then saw some kind of text from her saying that she was down the hall. I told her that she was mean and rotten and that she just robbed a US Veteran (this is true) and that I planned to post online about this. She texted me back one more time telling me to do whatever I needed to as far as the online posting and that it wasn't her fault. She still feigned victimhood right up until the very end.

A very common scam that low life losers pull. Everyone you mentioned in the story is in on it and gets a cut, either the money or the drugs.

Regardless, I've been at this on and off since 1980's. Had some close calls (NYC, cal, hunts point, Boston combat zone) but never got played.
