I've always thought that guys that show up and don't start slow are more like the stranger in a bar that asks you if you know where he can buy some weed. It doesn't mean he's a cop, but it's just not done. In new communities it's always best to start off slow and demonstrate value then earn trust.

Then noobs, like myself, RTFF and TOFTT and posted. Today noobs kick down the door and yell "WHERE'S THE PUSSY". Slight exaggeration but you get my point.

What people want) hold the cards, it's just the law of the jungle. If one brings nothing to the table, they have no negotiating power. All they can do is ask (or b1tch) and hope for charity. Those who understand this have info to trade.

Now having said this. People can help people too. It's all on a spectrum.

On one side you have the sharing of info, community, one-for-all type of approach. This is fine until people become lazy and start fucking things up for others, or until the source of the info stops. Then your fucked because your not self-sufficient.

On the other side, you have the idea that you have tit-for-tat and there is an equitable exchange of info. Both sides benefit on the trade and will not allow people to leach of them for the reasons above. This can be taken too far at times and can be less than ideal, because the info that one person may have, the other may already have and consequently has nothing to trade. I don't think the Sr members I've talked with are like this though. Many are willing to share info, if you seem like you are a legit monger trying to get ass on your own.

In the middle of this, is where people are self sufficient, and sharing. There will be lazy mongers out to leach, and hard asses, but there will also be reasonable, self-sufficient mongers. Some of them will be looking for info and will get it from other reasonable, self-sufficient mongers.

Sound like politics?

But this is all just my take on it. I'm not right, I'm not wrong. It's just my opinion (on life, really) and not meant to be offensive or negative (even though it's in Thunderdome).

Where as before there would be posts that pretty much contained all the info.

Now that same info can not be posted for fear of LE reading and acting on said info.

So in your example the new neighbor wouldn't have needed to ask, he would have found the info here.

We have dickweeds that sign up and then start a thread asking about changing money. When we have a very popular thread called, wait for it, Exchanging Currency. It's right on the front page, always near the top because of the odd situation here with exchanging dollars.

I use the three strike rule and I'll use this same guy as an example. The first time he did it, I replied in his new thread;

"Hey brother, there is a thread just for this called Exchanging Currency, there are 100's of posts there that will help you." (nice)

He responded: "Yeah but where can I change dollars?"

I said: "I already answered that, check out the thread Exchanging Currency." (less nice, direct)

Him: "In the time it took to write what you did you could have answered my question."

Me: I put him on my ignore list. (Fuck him, he can go get ripped off)

It's the classic teach a guy to fish thing. If a noob comes on and says "I've been texting this chick and she said this, what does that mean or what should I do?" The brothers asking, how do I fish? He bought a rod, he's got his line in the water, he's trying. The guy I was talking about was too fucking self important to read the fucking info right in front of his eyes. I myself have DOZENS on ignore and will more than likely continue to add more whenever I feel the need. My pm's are also set to contacts only so it limits the number of stupid idiots that can piss me off.

It was refreshing to read that A2 realizes certain people are just stupid fucking assholes and etc. The board is all about getting pussy and for the longest time I was GIVING that info to just about anyone and getting very little (if anything) in return. Usually all I got was a fucking headache from the numerous douchebags.

Ever hear the expression, that you can wrestle a pig in a pig sty full of mud and shit but eventually you'll come to realize that THE PIG LIKES IT? Well, that's what dealing with the dumbasses is like and why I am not going to waste my time doing so. For myself, it's a small tight group that I've dealt with before and even then it's via pm or fests. IMHO the rest of the board loses, not myself.
