Location sharing
In The setting you can suspend sharing or just turn your phone off before you get there.
Be aware that if you do turn off your location sharing it will send notification to other users that you did just that, so you may get questions as to why you turned off your location sharing. Wish I could help you with a solution.

Life360
A little more context. I live out in the sticks near Columbus and don't work near Indy so an excuse to be up there when Columbus has everything I need is hard to come by. I also work away from Indy so driving there to drop off a second phone would really be going out of my way, then there's still the going back to pick it up afterwards, that would be about 4 hours total travel time added. I have an iPhone so spoofing the gps might be tricky. I tried uninstalling the app and she got that notification too (blamed it on the toddler playing with the phone).
The crazy thing is I turned off the location services on my personal iPhone and put the work iPhone on airplane mode (that's the one with life 360) and the location history still showed up.
I'm probably going to have to load it on my personal phone and see if I can pay around enough with both phones to figure something out.

Turn off location
If you have an Iphone go to privacy &security then hit location services and turn off. It will not notify whoever you are sharing locations with you did that but is will show them location not found. You can get away with you phone was doing a 30 minute update or your phone died or you were in a poor cell service location a few times. Funny I know my wife checks my location frequently and amazing evrry time I turn that off she magically texts me random shit to see if I will reply which I do so it doesn't look like I'm up to no good when I actually am. It's playing with fire for sure if you don't want to do burner phone
So we just got this stupid app which will make mongering harder and I thought I had found a workaround by putting the phone in airplane mode but I tried it out this weekend and while the wife was showering, I noticed the locations I was at while on airplane mode still came up. Any of you know how to defeat the app without notifying the others in your circle?
.

Settings, then battery, and then turn on low power mode.
For background app refresh, go to settings, then general, and then background app refresh, and then toggle the Life 360 app off.
You can try these and see if they work, however, almost positive that they still notify someone who you are sharing your location with though. Although, I think if the low power mode works for you that may be the best option since it makes more sense explaining why that is toggled on your phone compared to why the other option is. I guess you can try these and see if they work for you and everything.

Another thing is it will still show your location with wifi turned on. May double check that as well. I know my wifi stays on even when I'm in airplane mode. In fact my stupid carplay always kicks back on over and over. The other route to take is to just forget to charge your phone and let it co. Pletely die or accidentally leave it at home. Takes some thought and planning. But if she sees your phone at home and your not responding you are usually in the clear. Just can't do it all the time.

Freckle Freak
Not sure if this was posted already. I can't seem to find it anywhere on here.
November 13,2025 he passed away. How I do not know. I had just been to his house on November 2nd. I just know he had a lot going on in his world at that time.
I won't post his real name here. If you want to know more I'm me. I can send you the link to the obituary. It tells almost nothing though.

I would think any option / excuse that makes you absent / offline would have a limited lifespan.
Surely your phone was just in the locker for an hour or two while you were "working out". Might also provide a quick shower option upon pickup so you don't come home smelling of French Vanilla (hopefully).
Even that though. Tricky over time. Divorce is another option but it's kinda expensive.

FF provided good guidance when I had a different alias. He even provided suggested salutations when my sign-off was being confused with BigGuyUAteMe. Even though we had very different sign-in names, LOL. Sadly I found myself in the prick yard and got booted off.
Mentioning BG, anyone have updates regarding him? FWIW I have not met any of ya'll that I am aware of (none of you have high fived me entering or leaving an AMP, sigh).

Motel question
Guys need your help.
I'm going to be in Bloomington.
But that section doesn't seem to be as active so.
I'm asking here.
I am hooking up w / a co-worker in Bloomington.
We need to get a motel.
Is there a place you can recommend that doesn't require a drivers license.
And will take cash.
No questions asked.
Thanks.

Any place that meets your requirements is bound to not be cleaned properly between guests and could be a haven for bed bugs.

Life360 update
So I've been playing with the app on both phones and this is what I've found:
My location is shared with the family from the work phone personal is the experimental one, just sharing with the work phone. As I tweak features on the personal phone, I get to see the output on the work phone, notifications, status, etc. Both are iPhones.
So, if I disable location services, I don't get notified but the status showed it being disabled, no good.
If I disable it from the app permissions, the status shows it as well, no good.
If I turn off precise location on the app permissions, it also shows that on the status. No good.
When I turned off cellular data on the app permissions, the status remains at the last known condition. For example, if you're driving, it'll show your last location with the car icon next to it but your dot won't move. This is important because if you're on the road but the dot doesn't move, it'll draw attention. Under your name it'll show "last updated xx minutes ago" and that is about the only noticeable flag I see. Now, when I turned the cell data back on, the app updated with the location so the entire drive comes up. No good again.
So I went back into the app settings and turned off cellular data then turned off the app's location services. My spot updated with something along the lines of "precise location disabled". No good again.
Tried one more time this time waiting 5 minutes between disabling the cell data and location services and it finally worked the way I wanted it to! No updated gps path, no odd status, nothing that appears intentional.
Here are my takeaways. Use your work phone to share your location, if you have one. My employer pushes software updates so that the phone is always up to date with the latest security features so you have the "the phone forced an update" excuse.
Make sure you are stationary, don't do this while driving! Pick a place you could easily spend the time you need, like Walmart or work. Disable cellular data first, then wait for a few minutes so the app doesn't send a last gasp update. Disable location services and turn off your WiFi. You definitely don't want your phone to connect to some WiFi signal out there and have your status update with "location permissions off".
When the deed is done, turn on location services first, then enable cellular data. If you were stationary when you started then you just have your position start up, business as usual. If you were moving (car icon) then when you enable everything back on you'll have a trip summary connecting the last spot you were at with the new one when you connected the service back up but instead of the gps travel log you end up with a straight line like it was drawn with a ruler. I didn't like this because it's a logged event. I prefer the stop the app permissions while you're stationary so when you start back up so there are no logged events.
Hope this helps. I was trying to find a workaround to airplane mode so that you can still use burner apps and gps and have a plausible way to mask Life360. If any of you want me to try anything, feel free to reach out and I can experiment on the iOS side of things.

So I've been playing with the app on both phones and this is what I've found:
Not sure if you've tried to get on Reddit to see if teens have a work around. Teens can be really tech savvy and I'm sure they know a way around Life360.

I looked for a bit

I figured I was not using their slang correctly or they were doing videos on TikTok or something more akin to their generation.
Hope this helps, the forum helps on so many fronts that I hope I at least make this contribution LOL.
