Saturday, September 29, around 7:00PM there were quite a few above-average providers out on Broadway. I usually pass, but this night I actually had to decide. Trav, I am including an apology to you with this report. I feel that Dyan’s condition at the time you encountered her may be, at least in part, do to reckless monger behavior on my part. Although, I have no problem tipping a provider when she performs well. As a monger of the old school, I know that over tipping or over compensating a girl can be dangerous. Back in the day it was not unusual for a junkie to OD after coming into a larger then normal amount of money. I fear that Dyan’s condition, as you described it, may have been the results of my having been a bit to zealous with my tipping. Girls in Dyan’s trade have either of two things going for them, if they are successful. Either they have good to passing looks or they have a good to passing reputation. Likewise, we mongers mainly have one of two reasons for paying SWers. Either we are trying to get what we don’t get or don’t have at home, or we are trying to get an extra bit of spice. I spotted a few other providers, but much fewer than normal. I spotted previously-reviewed Lana near Camille's hangout, but chose to pass on her as a result of a bad experience with her during my second encounter with her, when she was nodding in my car and rushing service and securing a play spot. A few points: 1- you did right to tip her what you did and no I don't think you over tipped given the experience you had. 2- More than likely your right, she took the extra money and partied it up. The only time I hear that they go to rehab is if the wind up in the hospital (like Patti recently) or in jail. It seems these two options are the only way out. I was cruising down Broadway from Admiral Wilson Sunday night around 9PM. I got all the way to the park and did not see one SW.
