In addition the cops have qualified immunity. In short, this means you have virtually zero chance of getting them in any kind of trouble for arresting you for simply showing up. They know this. That doesn't mean you can't beat the case at some point. But what it does mean is they are going to arrest you and leave the rest up to you, your lawyer, the prosecutor, judge, etc.

Ever hear the phrase "Tell it to the Judge". You will if you try to tell vice why they shouldn't arrest you because their case is so weak.
