Seems that I have been mongering more than twice as long as you CoolDude. If I remember correctly, the AMP places didn't really exist in the 70's but it was not until the mid 80's that we started to see them pop up around town.
I think from my experience, the heydays were probably just in the past 5-10 years with the wardplex, Tokyo spa, Empire, Happiness, Roses and so many more to choose from. It was hard for me to decide at times on where to go and who to see because of the quality and quantity of young girls that were working. Pink had their 30 minute specials that was so hard to pass up.
Now it is hard for me to find a girl that is worth seeing.
Your last sentence got me to thinking, yes, it has got hard because of prosecutor Nadamoto's hard on for working girls, but he can't keep it up for long.
It's going to get a lot harder to find options before it gets better. What nadamoto and Covid didn't wipe out, the sagging economy will continue to repress. We have lots of demand, but less money circulating in our economy, so it's a repressed demand. The best and brightest of our providers have already left. Not a whole lot waiting in line to enter the Hawaii scene. It will eventually get better, but it's going to take several years, and a local economy to bounce back, before it does.

Your last sentence got me to thinking, yes, it has got hard because of prosecutor Nadamoto's hard-on for working girls, but he can't keep it up for long.
With all of these posts and chatter, feeling more and more old here. I think the same same on the later '70's more towards the mid-'80's and more towards for me in the early 90's. Back then if your game was decent, choke bars and nightclubs for whoom bang easy pickups. But, as always if you not in Waiks and the clubs with the visitors' chances were they are local. Working in Waiks, and the bigger influx of Japanese and Europeans, never a shortage if your game was decent. Even the DTSWs were pretty decent and prices were like going to a 1 or 2 or 3 star restaurant. What you hunting for or cash strapped. I swear were our 1st offices for our company back then was right dab in the middle of Kakaako. Dixie Grills, the WardPlex, with Hibiscus right around the corner, to VIP to Exotics to the Ala Moana Blvd. Thai, Viet, K Clubs right in walking distance. Came to the point we just walked instead of bringing our cars parking and being seen bc our trucks were so easy to spot. Years, we had Young St. , AY Wong Bldg, University Blocks, WardPlex, and the Sides streets of Kakaako to Koreamoku. Those days, with the laws in place, and the easy LEO pickings for the simple arrest and petty charges that won't stick. That is our currents, we just got to hang in tight, hoping we can turn the corner. 2021, year of the Ox and hoping to be steadying. Hoping for better times for us mongers. Be safe all.

" Actually this kine is from my father's time (1940-1950s) when when cost $2.50 for one shot; my early years prices when averaged $50-100, depending upon the availability of favorites. Was very convenient then and now, when most of the Ho Houses was above bars and even had small bars in their "waiting areas. " We may not have been hung (ala ShyBoto), not too much game, study plenty but not too smart, but we had plenty cumuppance.
They no can stop this kine place from proliferating as it is embedded in societal histories and mores.

I didn't have the internet to use and probably went right by them as I was going mostly to the Korean bars around Keeaumoku and Kapiolani. I didn't know of any AMP places on Kapiolani or Keeaumoku. I only knew about the places on the second floor on Hotel street. River street had too many mahus back then, so I stayed away. But in those days driving around with the windows down with no ac, get plenty good looking girls driving around too asking if I had twenty dollars and if I want to date. If I remember correctly, the price of a beer in the bars ran around a dollar and nekohana was five but I was lucky since I was earning over two dollars an hour, but still had many days left after my money ran out. Now nekohana is 20 to 40. So that means to me that we get a great deal on the price of a provider today considering inflation.

Given the inflation rate of 3. 49% per year from 1975-2020, cumulative rate increase around 384% (Hawaii maybe more higher); so $496 today was worth $100 in 1975 (we talking about value); no sense compare inflationary values when talking about screwing hos because they going win (and us get screwed) as long as competitive prices are paid. Although competition can be a good thing, no can go back in time (it waits for no man).
Where is she now? Probably working in the KBs/VBs and still hooking it on occasion.

Where is she now? Probably working in the KBs/VBs and still hooking it on occasion.
I only know of one bar girl from the 70's that is working today. When I met her, she was a very young twenty something fresh from Korea and didn't speak much English. She went by the name of "Sunny" back then. Now you can see her at Club New Business as "Sunshine".
I probably don't want to know what any of those bar girls are doing today. Many of them showed me how easy it was for them to drain my wallet and leave me with nothing. And stupid me kept coming back to have their many devious bar girl tricks played on me over and over again. I guess some people never learn. My very first bar girlfriend will be turning 72 soon. I don't think I would want to see her today.
Usually that offer would be classified as a Fly Me to You (FMTY) scenario. Providers often want multiple hour compensation and the items you talk about (airfare, hotel, etc.). Very few of we Hawai'I mongers can afford FMTY, except for maybe Mister Smiley, we all envy his monger bankroll
Oh, the deal would be for the provider to have a paid flight and maybe a couple inexpensive hotel days here in an equal exchange for services and then she can remain and work as an escort with some known customers for a short time and then go back. Basically make it a no financial loss proposition for the provider to come out here but with the opportunity for her to make some decent pocket change too.
