Just got back from a trip to Orchid Day Spa in Coronado.
Someone had mentioned earlier that it wasn't worth the trip over the bridge, but I figured some time had passed since the earlier review so I would head over to re-assess the situation.
Sadly, the situation hasn't changed.
The place wasn't too hard to find, on B Ave. and with-in walking distance of Hotel Coronado. Additionally, it was clean, and very pleasant smelling (Lavender).
I went all out with a VIP package for $1.3. I know this is a lot, but it included 60 minute back massage, table shower / scrub, 10 minute soak in a jacuzzi, and another 15 minute front massage.
The front massage naturally left out one important area. In fact, the attractive middle-aged Japanese masseuse told me that Coronado has very strict laws prohibiting "massaggee" in such areas.
There were a few moments where I feel as though had I pressed the issue a little more it may have gone a little differently. When massaging my front, she allowed me to lightly touch her leg(s), and I had started to work my up but time ran out. Also, she was pretty liberal with the towel during the back massage and of course the transition from table shower to jacuzzi.
I don't know if it means anything, but there was a box of tissues in the massage room. Maybe it's like Grandma's house, and every room has a box of tissues, but then again....
