But I also don't want her at the front desk checking in with me. For various reasons: The clerk might ask my name. Forcing me to awkwardly hope handing over my driver's license is sufficient. And then hoping they're not dumb enough to repeat my name back to me. Also, if she's present at check in, it creates an option for her to later swing by the front desk (after our date, after I've left) and ask for a room key, with the idea that the clerk might remember her in association with my check in and room. And so forth.

So if we meet at a hotel with restricted entry and I'm pleased with what I see, I'll ask her to wait outside or somewhere far away from the front desk while I check in. If she's not cool with that, I can easily bail. I haven't committed to the room yet. And I haven't committed to the date yet. There's nothing preventing me from walking away.

This sort of straight up ripoff has happened to me maybe 5 or 6 times. You hand over the money, thinking the fun is about to start. Instead, there's the old knock on the door, girl opens the door, dude walks in, asks you to bounce. Out of 400+ encounters over nearly 10 years.

And in all of those bad experiences, no one laid a hand on me. So I was out $150 or so. My pride was hurt. And I adjusted my protocol to try to minimize the probability in the future.

Do you try to stop her from opening the door? Now you've escalated the violence. Where does that end? Maybe best case scenario, you're packing, they're not, and you're prepared to kill. Good luck explaining your situation to the cops.

Best approach is to avoid this nonsense. LOL.

Barring that, stick with providers that are well reviewed. My problem is I like variety, I like the hunt. I like the prospect of finding some fresh young thing.
