If you have the balls to TOFTT, you will strike out as often as not as a newbie, but it WILL get better as you learn somewhat how to read good opportunities and not-so-good. A lot of it is just intuition you develop and it's hard to tell you in words. Make sure you read WAY back into the forums and read some other neighboring cities' forums, too (Kazoo, Lansing, etc.) for recommendations. Also, be careful when talking about services for X amount of $$$. You can get stung that way. If I was you, I'd make my next attempt with someone that has a good review, just to get that mongering confidence back. Good luck.
