The reason is if you use a link on a page it is recorded as coming from this site! However if you cut and paste it will only show your IP as the source of the HIT! Backtracking is a way to follow activity. Therefore BP would show this website as a source of hits! I assume it was a decision of the webmaster here to eliminate that tie in.

Why would anyone employ such methods to generate 100's of ads all over the country? Your guess is probably as good as mine but my guess would be that it is to harvest the e-mail addresses of the poor suckers like Antique who failing to see a local number try to contact the poster by e-mail. Hopefully, he used some junk e-mail account to reply from because I fear whatever account he used will soon be filled with all sorts of SPAM. Besides, if you can't even be sure that the person posting the ad isn't really based someplace like Las Vegas, St. Petersburg (Russia) or Lagos Nigeria, (or that it is even an actual young hottie), why would you have any hope of actually hooking up with her locally.
