I can tell you from some reports i've been hearing that the police are focusing in on the area due to compliants about drugs. That latino barber shop about 300 feet north of Alpha has been getting waaay too much attention by the LE due to drugs, fights, etc. The crack house next door to that is also becoming a BIG stench to the locals as well (there is a guy there who hangs out the window as a "watch" looking for LE...he is so obvious.) Idiots even lit some cars on fire.

With that said...I do not recommend anyone trying for action in that spot unless they have their wits about them. Too much chance for problems.

I was out on Williams, Edward, Ashley, Farmington, Laurel, and Niles between 10-12 Wednesday night. Spotted two latinas, a mid to late 30s (short and curly hair that looks like she just woke up) and a younger latina (mid 20s) at the corner of Ashley and Huntington. They were there for as long as I were. Also spotted a few black chics in the area that's not worth mentioning. There was a tall skinny black chic that screamed at me on Ashley, as I was making too much passes and not a pick up (she's probably pretty deperate).

Also, spotted a grande black chic (with white t-shirt and HUGE racks) on Laurel at intersection of Case. Spotted her again later on Niles.

Monger22, this 19yo latina you spotted on Walnut, did she have a light complexion, skinny, long hair? If so, that's probably Teri (Theresa in my previous posts). As for Melissa, do you know her regular stroll times and locales? Or best of all, her number?

Stoner - Sorry for the delay for my elaboration on Angelina. You requested details...well I give you everything I can...Just promise you don't pull a Stafa! :)

Angelina only seems to work the Maple, Webster, New Britain Ave area and is usually found in close proximity to the Exxon station at the corner of Maple and Webster by the Theater. I would say she is about 5'5' or so with long reddish brown hair. She does often have her hair up. She is a very light skinned PR with a distingushing tatoo on her neck. Nice rack and a good body but begining to weather fast. She is young too. I would say early to mid 20's at best. I have never seen her out after dark....she is a daytime SW. I seen her as early as 9 am. As far as performance it varies based on her "high". If she is not high she is a bundle of fun, but if she is high, my advise try another time. I must compliment her BJ skills. Best I have found on the streets. BBBJ to completion (with spit). Slow and will take every last inch. One word of caution if strolling and you are going to pick her up. She is not shy and doesn't seem to care about who or what is around when approaching a car. Take it for what its worth. Just got back from Hartford. I was on my way to go to a local store in the area right off the Silver Lane exit off 84 in Hartford. Monger - The spot next to Alpha is dead, I hit it myself with one of them and found out just 2 or 3 weeks ago that she went to rehab. Another is in jail, and the LE are hot on the area in an effort to clean it up. Down the block is lots of drug action, very obvious gang shyt.

As we know, action is always transient, never predictable. Sorry.

I made the map up real quick to show action I've seen as of late. The Red is the old, blue is the more recent. As you can see, it really has been shifting.

For all practical purposes, I'm laying off the streets for a while. Just too hot, and not worth the time with most that is out there. If i see anything real exquisite, I'll share...but my street mongering days are numbered. The other day, I went for some action with a sweet little latina I met and went to one of my special day time spots. There is a cemetary off of Maple heading into Wethersfield. Some beautiful spots there to park and walk to the woods or behind a large dirt pile. Unfortunately, as I was driving in, I noticed I was possibly being followed.

So, using method #327 of the Stoner avoid a possible tail scenario, I stop the car and get out...force their move.

The car stopped. I walked off and came back to the car. As soon as I started my car, they started. I pulled the car out a bit and stopped and waited for them to pass. They stopped as well and sat. LE or not - the game was over. I left, hit the gas a bit and dropped her off at the entrance, then pulled off to the supermarket and park to elude successfully.

I may have been paranoid, but I do know the LE has stepped up a few notches and it is campaign season.

A proposed regulation to kill "lap dancing" threatens to close all of
Connecticut's strip clubs

A proposed revision to the state's regulations governing "appropriate"
conduct at adult entertainment venues -- one the Department of Consumer
Protection's Liquor Control Division seems poised to adopt -- has
several exotic dancers throughout Connecticut shaking in their go-go boots.
Come this spring, strip club patrons' beloved champagne rooms -- those
"forbidden" nooks behind the black curtain where so-called lap dances
are performed -- could become a thing of the past at all of the state's
40-plus adult entertainment venues, should the revision proposal make
it onto the books.
That's because the revision would require that there be, at all times,
a 6-foot "buffer zone" between exotic dancers and their patrons, in
effect prohibiting lap and table dancing.
The proposed regulation modifications require that exotic dancers
"remain in fixed locations established as the stage areas for the duration
of their performance[s]," and that "there shall be a buffer zone of no
less than six feet between each stage and the nearest patron of the
establishment."
The measure further states that "no such premises shall permit exotic
dancing in any room wherein there is not full visibility throughout the
entire premises" -- in other words, no lap dancing, as most dances are
performed in a private, more obscured area of the club.
In addition, "dancers shall not mingle with patrons" between stage
exhibitions; in most topless clubs, dancers will socialize with the
clientele in an attempt to "sell" private lap dances. In short, these proposed
revisions to the state's regulations that control the strip club
environment eliminate performers' lap-dancing prospects.
A public hearing on the proposed revision is scheduled for Sept. 22 at
10 a.m., at the Department of Consumer Protection's offices on Capitol
Avenue.
The new regulations would only affect strip clubs where alcohol is
served, claims Anna Ficeto, a representative from the department's legal
branch. For "all-nude" establishments, in which the sale of intoxicants
is prohibited, it'll be business as usual, Ficeto says.
There would be no change in fines and penalties -- the revision would
be enforced as all liquor control regulations are now -- when a club is
found in violation, it can be fined and/or shut down for a period of
days. Repeat violations can lead to more severe punishments -- clubs'
permits being revoked, for instance.
If the revision is approved, Connecticut would join a growing list of
cities and states working to protect themselves against the increased
crime, decreased property values, and urban blight that they've argued
comes with sexually oriented businesses.
But strip club owners claim the move is just the state's latest legal
contortion, designed to drive legal adult establishments out of
business.
Adult entertainment magnate Dan Quinn, who produces adult films and
owns several adult bookstores throughout the state, as well as the Kahoots
franchise, maintains this new legislation could eradicate all of
Connecticut's strip clubs.
"They're looking to put us out of business, because they've got a
hard-on for this business," Quinn says. "This will drive the clubs out of
business. The state knows it, and I don't think they care."
As Quinn explains, most of an exotic dancer's earnings are derived
through the performance of lap and table dances. The tips dancers procure
while working the main stage at most strip clubs are, in truth, somewhat
trifling -- a dollar here, a dollar there. The real money's in lap
dances.
Eliminating lucrative lap and table dancing would create a financial
hardship for strip club owners and dancers. Quinn's rationale?
He says most exotic dancers will find that working in a strip club in
Connecticut is not worth the while, and predicts most of his "girls"
will seek employment elsewhere -- in Massachusetts and the New York-area.
Therefore, recruiting and then retaining fresh face s at most of the
area's topless haunts will be close to impossible -- without dancers
prancing around onstage, these clubs will become nothing more than sports
bars. The financial hit these businesses are destined to endure will be
monumental, Quinn says.
"Natalie," one of two dancers from Hartford's Gold Club the Advocate
spoke with, corroborates Quinn's supposition. "It's going to end some
dancers' careers," she says. "It might close the clubs down -- at least
the clubs that serve alcohol. But, it will also mean that a lot of
students won't be able to finance their way through college, and a lot of
mothers won't be able to meet their childrens' needs. I think it's
discriminatory, a law through which the state can close down strip clubs
without directly outlawing them. I think it's definitely a morality
crusade."
Exotic dancers, explains "Rebecca," who's worked at the Gold Club for
five years now, do not earn an hourly wage. In fact, most dancers are
asked to pay the strip clubs at which they dance $40 before even entering
the club, for the privilege of working there. So, income is reliant on
customers' tips and through the performance of lap dances. On an
average night, Rebecca says she earns around $40 in tips from her stage
dances, and upwards of $400 for all of the lap dances she gives.
The 6-foot neutral zone would render lap dances null, and she suspects
her stage tips could even take a hit, because with the 6-foot rule, the
only way a dancer would earn a tip is if the customer had extremely
accurate aim. (Normally, patrons leave bills on the stage, stuff them into
a dancer's G-string, or push them into her cleavage.)
"The only way people would be able to give money is to throw it at you,
which is ridiculous," she says. "We won't even be able to afford
working there, so the girls who can travel will look for work outside the
state."
According to Consumer Protection's Ficeto, the new rules are not an
attempt by the agency to wipe out the state's nudie bars, or rob exotic
dancers of their livelihood.
According to the proposal, "the regulations have been created for the
purpose of preventing prostitution, the sale of narcotics, and other
illegal and disorderly conduct activities from taking place on the
premises of an establishment with a liquor permit."
Ficeto says the ordinance is designed to minimize the alleged
"secondary effects" of strip clubs, and that stern penalties would reduce
instances of quasi-prostitution and related crimes.
"It's very rare that our agents will go into an exotic dancing location
and not find mingling or close contact or lap dancing and that kind of
thing," Ficeto says. "The whole purpose for the regulation to begin
with is to avoid that kind of contact, which then leads to illegal
activities such as prostitution. So, we decided that by creating a buffer I
mean, you can dance exotically all you want, but you can't have mingling
-- you can't have close contact. That's the intent, to avoid any
illegal activity -- not to put anyone out of business."
Should the proposed revisions be approved, they'd prohibit "mingling"
in strip clubs, and little else. The provision, as it's now worded,
already prohibits lap dancing in establishments that serve alcohol, Ficeto
says. Therefore, it is to be concluded that club owners like Quinn,
who're afraid the provision's new emphasis on stricter enforcement will,
in time, force them to throw in the towel, are already breaking the law,
willfully.
It also will "create a situation where everything has to be done out in
the open," she says. "We get into situations with private rooms, for
private lap dances, and of course the concern there is always
prostitution, because God only knows what goes on in there. So, you want to avoid
that." For the first time, the state's 40 strip clubs have banded
together to fight the proposal, setting aside their competitive natures to
see that they're all able to remain in business in the future. Three of
the area's local clubs have retained New Britain attorney Daniel Silver
to argue their case. Silver says the buffer restriction is
unconstitutional.
"There is little question that the intent here is to stifle this type
of speech," says Silver. "The reason is very simple. The state of
Connecticut has no evidence -- and they're not going to be able to provide
any evidence -- that adult clubs foster either prostitution or drugs. The
facts will clearly show that other types of entertainment venues, which
have liquor permits, have much more of a problem than the adult clubs
as far as crime is concerned." Cities usually run afoul of the U.S.
Constitution when they try to enforce limitations such as these. Some
courts, including the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati, which
reviews appeals from federal district courts in Kentucky, Michigan,
Ohio and Tennessee, have struck down buffer zones in places such as
Chattanooga, Tenn.
But Ficeto says the proposed ordinance is defendable in court. Much of
the language in the proposal, she says, was borrowed from legislation
in other states where buffer zones are enforced: Louisville, Ky.,
Mishawaka, Ind., Honolulu, Hawaii, Austin, Texas, Los Angeles, New Orleans,
and Spokane County, Wash.
If the regulation passes, attorney Silver says his clients will sue the
state.
"There's no question there will be a lawsuit which would be brought
contesting this," he says. "From a legal standpoint, I think that the
state would be very vulnerable to such a lawsuit."

Thanks for posting the article from the Advocate. I was just sitting here reading the same article in the paper version, and logged into wsg with the express intent of posting it for all of us CT mongers... You beat me to it!

If it comes to this, the clubs can go to no alcohol being served like Gold Club Connection and Juicees, where they set their own hours and have full nudity. The article even says this. They could go to BYOB. If they don't serve alcohol, the Alcohol Commision has no say in their operations.
