WTF just happened?
I just heard that Craigslist has shut down the Personals section for good. Courtesy HR1865 House Bill that just passed [URL]https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/1865.[/URL] When I heard that I couldn't believe it's happened. Feels like my high school sweetheart had a sudden violent death. Ofcourse, CL was not the most reliable place but it is a Unicorn. A legend. One place where many including me had an avenue to explore their sexuality, kinks and fantasies. Where those cherished random hookups were truly possible. I felt bad when they took down Backpage. But CL personals is a bit too much stepping in the way of freedom of speech! Wonder if HR1865 would also affect sites like USASG? How are the CL Veterans like Rocket Dork responding to this development? Should we create a petition to oppose it? LOL. I'm currently traveling on a business trip. But I had to come here to mourn my sorrow. Sorry about ranting.

Hey guys don't panic. The personal ads will probably go to the Gigs and Resume section of Craigslist. Remember what happened to Backpage when the Escorts section went away. All the Escort ads went to the Women Seeking Men section. Just wait a few days. Ads will probably show up in the Gigs and Resume section.

I'm just coming out of the shadows to say how much it sucks that CL took down the personals. Yeah, the pros and wannabes will find another outlet, possibly on CL itself, for selling their services. But I don't know if something is going to step up and serve as a place for us to find free sex with the same freedom. All the modern dating sites / apps just don't really do the same thing. CL personals were pretty unique. It was like the wild west of personal sites: pretty much anything goes, it was self-policing, and your success was based on a weird combination of effort and luck. You could take the slow play or find a quickie hookup. It was some strange hybrid of the new and old schools.
I hooked up dozens of times with all kinds of different women on there. And even found real love thanks to CL. I'm sad it won't be there anymore. Fuck these puritans for their shitty legislation.

Thank god I posted an ad yesterday and had some legit responses from it. Sadly, it's punishing those of us that were just looking for hookups. CL deleted a bunch of posts in gigs, too. My ad was gone.

It is not even the paid for dates that will be hurt. Just think how many men used the CL personals to hook up with other men without doing it in forest or bookstores, or the swinging couples meeting people.

I love this site and all the knowledge we have shared but I don't agree that the usaadultclassifides will take off, how long has it been up? As of today there is one Chicago escort advertising. Doesn't inspire hope.
Would also be nice to search suburbs too.

I have hopes that freedom of speech will eventually rein over yet another false crusade.
