They kind of trail blazed the way for the higher pricing you see today for select girls in the 400-600 range. From what I can gather, premium girls are priced that way mainly for their looks and youth, there's no other metric. Whether you get a super green girl, average courtesan, or nympo vixen is all up in the air. Therefore, if you have any intention of seeing Angel, just keep that in mind. Now, a lot will protest because they had a bad experience or whatever.
