I did take the TGV to Reims and take a tour of the Taittinger Champagne House where it is made. Very nice and got to sample a lot of champagne. Those French know how to live.

The Supreme Court issued an opinion today declaring warrntless searches of hotel registries illegal. The opinion indicates that the hotel can still consent to the search, but they can't be compelled without first having court review or a subpoena.

All people checking in may want to get the hotels policy on providing the information on request.

I have two rants about the new USA Adult Classified section. The first rant is that it effectively removes the provider from the board. Although providers cannot defend themselves, it's nice for them to participate in discussions from time to time. I think we are going to see less and less ladies join the board to participate in the forums. We no longer can see how many posts they have in the new Classified section. By the same token, since we communicate by email and not by pm, the ladies can't see how many posts we have or look at our posts. If I were traveling, I could go to the Forum Advertiser board of a city and pick out what providers I want to see. I did that with Sinful Dreams, Stormy, and LilSexMe69. They look at my posts and decide if I am ok to see. No more. When you are communicating by email, anyone can pretend be someone else. They don't know me from Adam. I can't think of a time when I sent a pm to a forum advertiser and she did not get back to me within a day. There is no longer anyway to send them a pm directly. It's not clear to me that the handle on the new Classified section is the same handle that they used on the board. Some seem to be the same, some don't. That makes pm difficult. When I looked at the gallery and noticed a new photo of a provider that was posted, I would follow it up. No more because pictures on the Classified section never appear on the gallery. When a provider posted a new post, it would show highlighted on the Memphis Forum. No more. Now you have to check on the new site. I know that USASG has to make some money somehow, and I am amazed that you manage to do it, but this seems to be fraught with problems. I'm probably wrong, but maybe I can revisit this in another year from now. My second rant will come later. And I am on more solid footing on that rant.

My second rant on the new USA Adult Classified site is on the pictures. The photos are, shall we say, less than ideal. The Russians may know a great deal about writing code for a web page, but they must not know anything about pictures, I. E. , megabytes, kilobytes, pixels, pixel dimension, resolution and file size. If you go to Back Page and click on a photo, it will load and usually fill your screen. If you click on a photo in USA Adult Classified, it opens to about the size of a postage stamp, and if you double click on it, nothing happens. Here's why. The typical photo on BP has a pixel dimension of somewhere around 640 x420 with a resolution of 72. That's pretty standard and produces an ok photo. In contrast, USA Classified limits photos to 300 x300 pixels and a size limit of 1000 kb. Since cameras don't shoot square photos, the actual pixel dimension will be 300 x200 pixels. That produces such a small photo that it looks pretty crappy on a computer screen and almost impossible to view on a cell phone. To illustrate, look at the three photos below of Satin, an Hispanic provider in Memphis. She uses my photos on her USA ad and her BP ad. The photo named Satin-USA-Classified is a photo downloaded from her ad on that site. The photo named Satin-BP is a photo downloaded from her BP ad. Compare the two. You can see the difference. Even the BP photos is somewhat downgraded probably because it has been copied numerous times. When a jpg file is copied, it loses quality. To compare, the photo named Satin-Original would be a first generation photo uploaded to the USASG Gallery. It's the pixel dimension that is the problem, not the file size. The guidelines limit the photos to 1 MB or 1000 kb. That makes no since whatsoever and shows that the Russians don't understand photos. The pixel dimensions don't keep the file size down. The BP picture is only 29.6 KB. That's right [B]29.6KB[/B]. My photo is only 34.1 KB. So WTF? Two tech savvy chicks figured out that if you post a png file, you could make the photo upload full size. But cameras don't take png files. You have to have special software to do that. Tell the Russians to figure out how to compete with BP, or we won't be able to. End of rant.
