I had received several PMs , stating that the new spa would be a waste, but was still thinking of seeing for myself. Then I got a couple from SMs whose opinions I"ve come to put alot of stock in. They confirmed that it would be a waste of time and money ! They came thru just in the nick of time , I was already finnishing up at work early, and heading that way. At the last second, I checked my email on the road ( thank goodness for technology) , and got the bad news. Maybe they will get better in time. Thanks to the guys who saved my money, I owe you one!!
I was looking at the CMPD site and noticed 2 tagged for the great "MASSAGING A PERSON OF THE OPPOSITE SEX" on 12/12. Just letting everyone know LE has nothing better to do than mess with the MPs and indies again.

They have to make so many arrests to justify their jobs. Just as the "staties" always give out more tickets at the first and last of the month. The problem with that is , they shouldn't be harassing the AMPs and the Indies who are not on the streets, probably not on drugs, and certainly not contributing to the overall crime level , one way or the other. I can see the point that since most of the SWs are on some type of controled substance, that they might be an influance on the crime stats. ( sorry to all the mongers who perfer them, to each his own, I pass no judgement : ) )
However I always thought that the sale of such drugs also fell under the vice department. Why don't we ever see or hear about a big drug bust, or not nearly as often as we hear about the girls being caught. Could it be that it might be too much hard work , for these fine upstanding occifers ? You don't think it is because the drug dealers carry guns, do you ?? These brave LE occifers are not afraid of a gun ! They just can't seem to find the drugs, their dealers, or the ones that carry them. I hope the new cheif sees this , and does not take it the wrong way. I had hoped that he would really make Charlotte a safer place, I don't care if he has a degree , if he made every one mad by putting them back out on patrol, not behind a desk, I don't care about his race , religion, or his personal business, or his sex for that matter. So why can't he leave ours alone!!

The bust at CT surprises me. Experienced staff who have been in the biz a long time(too long?), know most of their customers. Don't many so called legit operators who happen to be women massage members of the opposite sex? Looks like selective enforcement to me. Ain't that illegal?
Rose Spa just opened on Old Pineville Rd. Right around the corner from Rainbow. Getting a little expensive to try all these options before Christmas!

[/QUOTE]I believe the so-called 'crime' of "massaging a person of the opposite sex" only applies to unlicensed providers.
Licensing is not done for safety or qualification purposes, as there are private certifications available (ex. NCTMB).
I think the regulation and licensing of massage therapy is done for three reasons:
1. Licensing means you are under state control and are, therefore, required to pay licensing fees, pay taxes on your earnings, etc. It's a revenue issue. (The greedy hand of government is never satisfied.)
2. Uptight social conservatives want to control the consensual behavior of other adults.
3. Self-preservation on behalf of licensed, established massage therapists who lobby the state and local governments to pass these laws. It keeps the competition down and, therefore, keeps the rates they can charge higher.
